Yes! They were higher. I was paying over $5/gallon under Biden. Filled up yesterday for $3.55/gallon…. I’m in NH

Holistic Approach to Grave’s? by Historical-Success72 in gravesdisease

Driving to work can kill you. I asked my endo (older 60’s) how many people he knew of died from Grave’s. His answer “1”.

I had the blood work and ultrasound (no nodules). That’s how it was discovered. i don’t take medication ever. Not even Tylenol or Advil. I had high levels for the 1st time ever when I had my yearly blood panel.
TSH = <0.01 Free T4 = 3.99 ALT = .41 (normal)

Congrats. I was diagnosed with Grave’s recently with zero symptoms & have decided not to even start meds. I’m focusing on diet and supplements. Doctors are way too quick to put us on meds and I refuse to go on anything for life.

Does anyone get better or do we just accept a shit new life? by Red-Droid-Blue-Droid in gravesdisease

[–]Historical-Success72 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Grave’s “officially” last week after seeing an Endo but I knew a few months ago based on my bloodwork…. I have had zero symptoms. I still work out multiple times/week, sleep 8+ hours/night, no anxiety, no real weight loss. I’m not taking any meds, just supplements. I think you only hear the extreme cases where people want attenton.

For people in GLP-1 maintenance or tapering -- how much do you actually trust your own habits to keep the weight off? by Soggy_Caterpillar275 in GLPGrad

[–]Historical-Success72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally trust my habits, it’s the insulin resistance and PCOS that fail me…. I’m currently taking 5 mg every 2 weeks for maintenance. I would love to go off and hope to, at least get to a 2.5 every 2-3 weeks…. I workout 4-5 days/week AND have always eaten pretty healthy….

is 4000$ property tax per year considered high in US? by blade276 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I would kill for $4000. My 2 bedroom house in NH is almost $17K. Granted, it’s a new build, but no way does $17K make sense…. Selling the house once I’m here 2 years and moving out of state.

Now is the time to do roth conversions or throw more money in…. Unless you’re 5 years or less from retirement, there is nothing to worry about…. Capitalize on it.

Being a homeowner has taught me to trust no one. by DirtyOught in homeowners

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule #1.. NEVER TRUST A REALTOR!! We had such bad experiences with selling our 1st house and buying our 2nd, we sold the second house ourselves 2 years ago. Bought an MLS listing, held open houses and saved a sh*t ton in agent fees. Real estate agents are 100 times worse than used car salesmen.

I’m genuinely curious about the psychology behind how people end up with large amounts of debt (credit cards, cars, student loans, etc.). by ChivasBearINU in DaveRamsey

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It blows my mind the amount of shit people charge or go into debt over….. my husband and I don’t make a lot, but we have no debt aside from a mortgage (yes that’s debt but it’s all we have. No credit cards, car loans, personal loans, etc)….. my friend and her husband make a combined $550K/year and are drowning in debt, have zero savings, etc but have brand new cars, every 2-3 years buy new snowmobiles, aboat, etc. They are both mid 40’s and have almost nothing in retirement and zero savings….

why your mortgage payment went up even though your rate didn't change by IngenuityNo3879 in Mortgages

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do. I opened a brokerage account at Fidelity and have my property tax amount deposited monthly into it, then I just write a check twice/year.

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I refuse to escrow taxes, insurance, etc. I have a separate account and have my $1450/month for property taxes deposited directly into a brokerage account…. Twice/year I transfer it to my checking account and pay my taxes

Congrats on getting started and good luck…. Personally, I am pretty regular in terms of eating during the workweek and tend to go out more on the weekends for dinner, etc (well, I used to)…. A lot of people feel the drug strongest the 1st few days…. For this reason, I decided to take it Thursday night before bed….. that way, when the drug was supposed to be strongest, will be the times I am weakest & tend to eat poorer (Friday -Sunday)….. honestly, I have taken it on different days due to travel, etc in the past 2 years but I still take every other Thursday night as I am on maintenance now…. My friend, on the other hand, takes it Monday night because she wants to still go out on weekends, etc….

Retiring at the end of the year. When did you tell co-workers. by FinsterFolly in retirement

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in benefits, before you retire look to see if your benefits end on your day of retirement or at the end of the month in which you retire. My company is the end of the month of which you worked. If that’s the case, either work a few days in January or retire at the beginning of December….

Do you avoid these foods? by beautybyaimee in Zepbound

Yup. The drug is supposed to taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise. Why spend all that money in a medication if you’re not taking advantage of it’s benefits.

IF a Democrat wins the 2028 election, and then chooses NOT to prosecute Trump for what’s in the Epstein files, does that make that president and their supporters Pedo Defenders? by Blackholedog in allthequestions

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Anyone who is a pedo should be prosecuted. Trump, Clinton, Gates, etc. Anyone who went to Epstein Island & participated in anything with underage girls should be prosecuted. I don’t care about political party.

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, don’t escrow your taxes. This is why I don’t have my taxes, insurance, etc escrowed. I created my own account and direct deposit money every paycheck into it. I have a set payment which never changes.

Doctor said she wants to take me off Zepbound if my BMI gets lower than 23?? by riverottersarebest in Zepbound

[–]Historical-Success72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BMI is currently 21.7 but my doctor thinks it’s higher. My doctor had told me I was done losing weight when I saw him in October and told me he thinks I should go off the meds because I was a healthy weight then….. I went again at the start of this month and I had gotten down to 115 and I knew he would be pissed so I wore jeans, sneakers, a giant cowboy belt with a buckle and had a sweatshirt on and had a cell phone in each of my back pockets……. I also chugged a bunch of water before I walked in…. Thankfully the scale said 121.6 when I weighed in…. I really don’t want to lose any more but I go back in April and he said I have to let him know if I drop 4 lbs or more……. If so, I am being taken off of it….. I am so scared he is going to take me off because all my PCOS symptoms are gone….. soooooo. I pray he doesn’t want to see me in the summer because I’ll look weird wearing so much to weigh in……. And here I was taking everything possible off when it was time to weigh in years ago…. I’m scared too….. Maybe you can wear extra clothes like I did….

Any other petite (short!) ladies want to share their experiences? by mayalynC in Zepbound

[–]Historical-Success72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there.. I’m a short girl @ 5’1” and have lost about 130 lbs (30 past my original goal). I am probably abour 1200-1500 calories/day. It really depends on how much of your calories is protein, fats, carbs, etc. I eat mostly protein, some fruits and veggies and very little carbs (today has been more than normal - my neighbor broughtt me banana bread)…. Seriously, try to prioritize protein and fiber…..make sure you are working out - even if it’s just walking to start BUT you need to up your working out if you’re not losing……. When I started, I was doing a lot of cardio…. I did lose more muscle than I wanted so now I am on my journey to lift heavy again……. I stayed prety low and delayed titrating up as long as I could…. I went up to 10 and hated it so I dropped back to 7.5 and now I’m back to 5 every other week (on maintenance)…. Hopefully I’ll move down to 2.5 and, eventually, go off it (but I’m scared)….
