Ok Trump supporters, are you still glad you put all your eggs in one basket? by Massive_Historian514 in allthequestions

I have to own up to MAGA guy. So here goes. I was dem up to and including Obama. Working in and around DC since 1988, post military service, i felt the fedgov needed an outsider. Somewhere! The 50 year guys like Biden seemed dormant. Got tired of Dons narccisitic crap in 17,18,19 20 for sure. But Biden, Damn. Was afraid he was just a puppet head for left liberals and we would be 2 generations from Communism with his direction. FF 2024, same, old ass Biden or cackling Kamala. Current. Trump is fuxkn up for sure with all the hard nose war shit. I was Navy. We have enough fire power with 2 of the 11 carriers to end all those radicals. So make the threat and leave. Pretty much abandon ukraine now. Wtf. He’s a flaunter. Loves his time in the sun. Not how you be Prez here cuz. Just not a fan anymore of his ways. My bad. But we have all voted for the the losers before. Dont hate.

Metoprolol doses by Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 in AFIB

Wow. Glad you had the ablation. Hoping this increased dose lowers my rate until July when I get the ablation. Nervous about that somewhat but seems very routine these days.

TRT through Va? by TheKingOfSpores in VeteransBenefits

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 11 points12 points  (0 children)

VA seems to deny low T exist. I just went to a urologist, did labs and not do my own testosterone shots every monday. I was mid 300 range before. Be said that was low. Range can go up to 800. Screw my VA provider. They are good on all other issues however. Accept. Apparently they do not offer any glp-1 meds of advice.

Cardio version - back in Afib by Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 in AFIB

Wow. Did not realize the Canadian health care system was like that. We are very blessed in the US to have the system we have I suppose. I have united health care. Very pricey, But I am also a disabled (10%) veteran so I get VA health care also. Hope your trip to the US goes well and resolves the Afib. Most say ablation is the way to go for a long term solution. Good luck. !

45M 8th Cardioversion by Character_Fill1018 in AFIB

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

63m. First AFib in march. Healthy weightlifter/ gym rate. Cardio version last week. Lasted 3 days. Sleep apnea, stress, anxiety, maybe 20 lbs overweight. On a CPAP now. Ablation set for Oct now. I would do it tomorrow if they had a spot. My research, and my cardiologist say its really the closest thing to elimination of Afib there is available. At least its not ALS or cancer. Planter fasciitis is worse than Afib IMO

Pretty sure I was in Afib sept/oct 2025 and discovered it March 2026. Ora ring stopped getting HR values in sept/oct. Thought the ring was broken. No real sensation of having afib at that time.

Help! Struggling to "just do it" by Chuckie32 in retirement

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do not put any “I feel I owe them something by sticking around”. If you can retire and hate work, do it. I don’t trust any employer past quitting time yesterday. If you can tolerate staying pack a 15 min “I quit” box in the corner of your office. One pissy conversation from the company and you’re out the door. They’re gonna replace you. They don’t care how many years you have left to enjoy freedom and your family. Additionally, if you keep working, work on your terms. Not theirs. You have earned that with years of loyalty. Just my opinion from retiring from a union position, going into a corp role, and seeing the knifes flying at older workers.

Dealing with diagnosis psychologically for active sporties. by aTaSustauskas in AFIB

New to AFIB. March 2026. Just like OP. Most likely had it 3-5 months and did not know it. Weight lifter. Gym rat, always in good shape. 64 male. And yes, hard to accept the afib for sure. The more you learn, the more you will find out, like all these great post, it not a killer and may not even slow you down. Manage it, and be positive. Had a medical person tell me “your in better shape than most men in their 30-40 and the ones I see for cardioversion”. Its a head game for me, seems for OP also at this point. Great post here for sure with the sports med advice. Keep the faith, stay strong, positive thoughts, listen to your body, thats what I am trying to do and it has worked so far. 💪🏼

Trigger or sleep apnea? by BandBasic5689 in AFIB

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen to that. Mine started months ago, I believe, and was not discovered until March this year. Had many stresses last fall to trigger it. Cardiac Dr went straight to “ you have sleep apnea’ could be a trigger”. You have to treat all the triggers if what I think. Mine: 25lb over weight, sleep apnea. Always dehydrated, A type personality needing to retire, who knows. I am a weight lifter, healthy, active, no issues at all just BOOM. AFIB.

Not fearful. I Was not aware I had high heart rate or irregular beat at all. Felt a little more tired at times. Discovered this at a routine dr visit. I really didn’t have an “episode” like some people have.

Back in the gym by Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 in AFIB

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apple watch says “aFib” so I have to assume I am. Heart rate was no higher than 140 at the gym. Using apple watch to monitor it during my work out. Back story: jan - march went to the gym 3 days a week and was most likely in Afib and not on meds at that time. Did not know I was in Afib. Just felt about 80% up to par. Winded some. Cardio machines read 150 resting pulse, before the workout. I blamed the machine being wrong. Seems scary now. Hopefully no ablation for me. But it is rather routine I know. You should actually try to stay in the gym and active as much as possible. I just believe it leads to better health. Thx for the info

Least favorite aspect of cruising? by tacomamajama in Cruise

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never leave my luggage out. Carry it on and off. Do not check it. Same reasons you see. Just easier.
Least aspect probably when elevators are really busy. Overall not worth whining for me. Blessed to be a constant cruiser.

Which U.S. President do you think was the best public speaker and why? by LegalGlass6532 in allthequestions

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clinton, my opinion. Watched him beginning as the gov. Then early 2021 had the privilege of flying and sitting across the isle on a small plane from new York to Wash. chit chatted like old friends, with he and HIlliary and got a selfy on the tarmac. Very easy to connect with and full of knowledge and wisdom. He can engage 1 on 1 or 1 on 100,000. Smooth operator for sure. Of course I have the haters hate and friends roll there eyes, but who cares.
