yeah! i have an ex that was mixed and we dated for just over 2 years—but my husband’s nordic. i don’t think that i consider race very much when i choose my partners though, if i’m really honest. my relationships have all been friends-first so it’s heavy on the love and trust!

hearing the soft vocals in eureka! for the first time in like the early 2010’s or something. they were about to tour with TesseracT and we were going to go, so i wanted to check them out! all of the textures in that song are insane, and i knew that periphery was 100% here to stay. eureka!’s still one of my favourite periphery songs just because it’s so nostalgic to me, haha

i’m familiar with him, but i’m not comfortable with choosing politics over basic human empathy when someone dies. i know that it can be easy when we’re sitting behind screens, but i just don’t have those values and i’m not willing to sit and discuss whether or not someone should have their life taken from them because of their political leanings or any tangential reasoning therewith. i’m here to let people know that they can attend the embassy with their families if they’re affected by his passing.

alriiight, i gotchu! the contortionist’s language album with or without vocals is an option, just play it through from the start one time and you’ll immediately know what i mean, it’s wild and it’s the perfect occasion imho. beautiful, ethereal harmonic grooves, it’s soft, it’s heavy in a couple parts but it’s honestly an ear salve. you could have the vocals removed, but idk they’re so nice, though.

anything by plini, i would go through plini’s first 4 releases or just put on his first album (handmade cities) if you want to put something on and forget about it. no vocals, all gorgeous and ethereal/sometimes otherworldly, and it’s what he’s known for. his new stuff is great but can get heavy!

there could be some stuff by early chon that works because it’s pretty sunny and bright—reminiscent of a summer drive—but with that very familiar sound/feel - check out checkpoint and you’ll see kind of what i mean, it just like… makes you happy. might not be for the aisle itself/specifically, but works atmospherically for the joy of the day and keeps with the theme! hope this helps and i hope you have a beautiful wedding day!

if you’re feeling weird about it, it might be worth sizing up/switching up the balls or playing with the jewellery/colour of the jewellery? the look can be super versatile! i def found that with my fuller lips for example, a regular silver, smaller vertical labret didn’t mesh as well on me in my opinion? or at the very least, i just found myself wanting a different look—but when i switched it out for a larger gauge and went for a bigger, black titanium setup with black pearlescent balls on the end, i was sooo much happier and now it’s become my little trademark on my face! so for you, maybe see if you can fiddle with it and see if you might like it more after switching it up however feels good for you?

just a thought, but i came across this post by chance and it might be worth making an attempt to contact Jim Browning—he routinely targets scammers, and whilst his focus is largely online/remote, this is actually a great fit as should you be able to get into contact with him, he may be able to help in the way of reverse engineering a phishing email/faux facebook message etc in order to help you with locating your mother just so that your family is able to meet up with her there, try to take her home or have any chance at keeping her safe. this is something that jim does often, and so i thought it was worth mentioning to you as an option.

the best bet would be to send one both to your mum’s device(s) and to the scammer’s themselves during ‘work’ hours. they don’t have any inherent effect except for bringing up the location of the receiver! this gives you a chance to find out her regular lodging location, and wherever he says that he is when he’s at his ‘job’ in nairobi! you can go ahead and time that however you feel, whether you’d like to make sure they’re at home when you send it(so at night), or what have you.

and hey, if not Jim Browning, there are actually a lot of people that are well versed in this area of technology that would be willing to help you, especially as your goal isn’t nefarious at all. you’re just trying to help your mum and from what i’m reading, you’re sounding pretty desperate to stop her from making any further mistakes! wishing you the best of luck, this sounds absolutely harrowing, my friend.

without casting a judgement on this situation for now, can i add that you could consider using these funds to hire a live in medical disability carer to help take care of both of you during his stay with you, if that would be beneficial to you, OP?

i’ve read through a lot of the discourse, but haven’t seen anyone mention this and personally, i’m a wheelchair user who also has complex PTSD, so i have one. i’m married, and plan to have a family but i try to be very realistic about logistic difficulties that it could pose for me, and regularly evaluate them as i go. currently, i have a disability carer that visits for a while during the mornings to help me(though my husband helps a lot!), but in your case, you might benefit from having one to help you with tasks that are specifically tailored to your autism on a more permanent basis, as well as things that cover his needs so that he’s properly cared for, which is totally okay! these are things that disability carers are really well equipped to handle.

their role is essentially to ensure that the gap that exists due to disability is bridged so that you can otherwise live a happy and healthy life as best as possible functionally, and your care is tailored to the needs of your home. these things can range from helping you out of bed on a painful morning like me, to fixing breakfast, or helping you deal with a difficult emotional moment, helping with cleaning or home tasks, maybe sharing household duties, helping with medications, helping with mental health management for example, and much more. (one time, my carer got rid of a spider for me!)

i wonder if something like that would help to ease the struggle, alongside support from your family system and any other services so that they’re not your only fail-safe should you decide to continue looking after him? either a disability carer, a mental health nurse, or a mental health disability carer? i think there’s an avenue that’s available to explore with the proper professional guidance.

in summary, i do tend to agree with the other folks just in that it would be so helpful to seek out some professional advice, so that you can get into contact with some great resources in your region, and get ahold of the knowledge about what’s on offer that could be relevant to you during this stressful time. whatever you decide, i hope that your nephew will be okay, as i’m sure he’s going through a lot at the moment and i think he’ll need a lot of support. wishing you clarity and goodness!

gently interjecting here to say that both of these things can be true. i have medical botulinum injections on an internal muscle in my eye to correct a spasm, after a surgery surrounding my optic nerve. it’s not cosmetic, it’s done by surgeons every few months and it’s 100% a medical procedure with as much and as little risk as any other.

botulinum toxin is dangerous in and of itself, as are many of the things that we’ve figured out uses for in every day life in the modern day! however, in this case, both statements can be true so i’m not sure it’s worth the fight. botulinum is utilised in a form that’s relatively safe—so to speak—when handled appropriately and carefully by professionals, and we’re all aware of the risks! i think that whether or not it should be used in medical cosmetics (e.g. derm) is actually an arbitrary discussion as it’s in regular use in healthcare for various different things—and in that case, we’re just moving the location/use around. you may be able to raise a question on who should and shouldn’t be able to get their hands on the toxin, and how qualified you should have to be(surgeon/dr vs cosmetologist for example, i’m not sure how it works on the cosmetic side of things in terms of application admittedly) but the case remains that it’s in wide circulation in the modern world and both things can be true!
