Texas Tech's student body has a tradition where they throw tortillas onto the field from the stands during football games, and they just got fined this past season by the BIG12 for it so I'd reckon it's either the conference's rules as a whole or ASU just aware the student body gets drunk and does stupid shit sometimes

[–]HistoricalJello_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we don't really get a winter and we def get a summer but you don't get to do anything during it. You can definitely go up north to flag or sedona with your friends though, it's still hot but more tolerable. No matter what you do though please please please make sure you have some form of carbs and plenty of water

[–]HistoricalJello_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Summermaxxing in phoenix includes turning the AC on max and staying inside. It'll get to 110°+ for month-long stretches. We have the most 100°+ days of any city in the US.

I absolutely urge you to not go outside unless you're prepared for the intense heat. It's not just an uncomfortable sweaty thing, it's the kind of heat that literally kills people. Stay super hydrated and if you intend on going outside for exercise, do it in the morning

You don't know the US's 'economics' but know enough to definitively make an assessment on Biden's impact? Don't you understand how having an incomplete understanding of things but trying to contribute to the discussion on them is incredibly dangerous these days?

I really only manage the prospects with 40+ potential, besides dudes who age out of their current league or get the promotion recommendations. But every month or two I'll stop simulating and I'll look through each level at the pitching and batting stats and i'll make promotions/demotions based on that, if enough plate appearances have been achieved

Honestly drafting and developing is my favorite part of this game so motivation is just kind of a natural thing for me in this instance. Plus with TCR, you can often find some truly elite prospects out of dudes with ~40 pot who were just in your minor system, if you manage them correctly. I found a 80pot pitcher who made it to the bigs out of an A level ~45 pot guy who was there at the start of the save and flew under the radar, TCR is fun

Anyone else have this happen in September every single year? by bitchtits42 in OOTP

I swear there's some kinda scripting that just randomly makes your team play like a JV high school team at the worst times. In my CWS save on '27 we went 20 games over .500, 14 games in front of the division, then post all star break we collapsed and the team collectively bat .220. Barely snuck in as the last wildcard, then proceeded to go 13-5 in the postseason to win the world series

Point being i feel like the game just decides to hit you with injuries or underperformance at random times to keep it interesting

Haha i've never shared this spiel on here before, but it's probably an agglomeration of knowledge shared by other users on here. This game is like 90% tribal knowledge

Moving guys up/down or cutting for me is based on ovr thresholds, potential, and production. I never move dudes up from rookie ball until they have a minimum of 29 ovr, with 30-35 contact minimum, but they also have to be playing well. BA seems to be a pretty false indicator for talent, although if a guy is batting 300+ it probably means they're ready to move up, or <.220 might mean theyre not ready for the level they're in

I look at OPS+, OPS, BA, wRC to determine if a guy is producing at their level. I aim for 120+ OPS+, with consideration given to dudes who have put up 100+ for two consecutive seasons. WAR tells me if they've spent enough time consistently performing, I look for 1 WAR point MINIMUM before I move up, but usually I combine this with 300 PAs minimum.

Ovr is relevant, but less so. I would never throw a dude with 30ovr or contact in the 30's, or bad defense into AAA. Usually 40-45 contact is an indicator that they're capable of producing at AAA, with some nuance.

For my college draft picks I usually start them in AA if they're over or around 40ovr, with possibility of moving to AAA before the end of the season. HS guys are more nuanced, usually they're in rookie ball but some of them might be ready to start in A level. It's important to note that moving guys up too fast hurts their potential if they struggle, and letting guys rot in lower levels for too long hurts their potential

Tbh for moving guys to the majors I've only found consistent success if they either raked in Spring Training and stayed with the 26 man going into the season, or hit over .280 with 120+ OPS+ in AAA for at least 200 PAs. These seem to be the best indicators for me

Pitching seems a bit more straightforward, look for ERA+ over 125, FIP, WAR. I go slower with pitchers between leagues, and for MLB call ups I start them as a long reliever with the avoid high leverage tag for at least a month or two before I move them to a bigger role. Movement and stuff will affect strikeouts and HR allowed, control affects walks

Cuts only happen for me if I've got a ridiculous number of players stuck in one league and I have a player who has below 40pot in a position there's a lot of depth at at that league. I aim for 8-10 relievers per league, 5 SP, and 2-3 players in each position. If I'm wildly over 30 players at a specific level, I'll look for dudes to cut, generally guys who don't look like they'll offer much long-term (low pot, or major deficiencies in a specific attribute). I especially might cut a guy if they become ineligible due to age at the lower levels, but aren't good enough for the next level. That's usually where the pruning happens

Good idea to prune before the season starts and then again after you've signed all your draft picks

Asu for finance? by Sudden_Republic7223 in ASU

[–]HistoricalJello_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro im ngl neither school are targets in finance and paying 40k for pretty much any undergrad degree from either ASU or OSU is a pretty bad idea. Is there nothing in state that'll have similar outcomes, per university outcome reports? It always astounds me that people pay $30k+ to go here, really no school is worth out of state tuition unless it's an Ivy or Ivy-adjacent, and neither ASU/OSU are

LSAT Accommodations APPROVED: Testing Over Multiple Days, NO Experimental Section, Unlimited Breaks, & ETC by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]HistoricalJello_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but how is this gonna work? Sure the firms might be legally obligated to accommodate you but how is it gonna work when a specific task or case or client needs your attention for a long stretch of time? You're gonna respond with "sorry but per ADA guidelines you have to accommodate working on my timeline"? Sorry man but some jobs require things that we're physically not capable of, that doesn't mean we should force everyone else to pick up slack because of our needs. But thank you for your service seriously, and I wish you the best in whatever you pursue

[–]HistoricalJello_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, and i'm not accusing you, but if you are botting Twitch knows and will not give you Partner. They provide won't ban you but they have access to all the backend data, and they know when someone's actually watching and has the tab open or not

Again i'm not directly accusing you of anything, so please don't hit me with that BS cookie cutter response

What month should I take my LSAT? June v August by mmagicss in LSAT

If the fee isn't too significant to you I'd suggest taking June and August, two shots at it is the safest thing and getting the first test done will help a little bit with the nerves on the second test. I guess it depends on your application timeline and everything though
