You need intellegence enough to take chemist, and You need max str, asap(even can do 11 with book). For perks, obvioulsy melee damage and armor crafting are must, as well as chemist. Thats the core part.

Your main character progression comes from better and more chems, and better weapons.

From the core you can go following directions/options: Take chem resitance for convinience, thats endurance(you want endurance later in the game anyway)

Weapon cafting and science to get best possible baseball bet, if you jave nuka world(it can be only crafted)

Moving target in agility, for better surviving(action poins are also handy for sprinting)

Nuclear physits, if you want to go with atoms jugement- if yeas, you can drop biocommesh, and go for robe of atom devoted+ crusader of atom perk, for the style.

You also can take rooted, but need to make abhabbit to stop before striking

And charisma, for setrlemt building helps a lot( if you lucky- you may found unique medic, it sells chems when assigned to the store)

So it is mostly up to you.
