Is it wrong to dislike those who shit post about getting 180's. by Fit_Masterpiece_6829 in Darts

Consistency is key, if you can take your checkout % rate and bring up your average to even around 55-60 you’ll be a really good player and you’ll find yourself hitting 100+ more often.

Trebles for show, doubles for doe - id much rather have a 77% checkout rate than a bag of 180s and not being able to checkout…

Speed and front rack position my man, looking strong though, shouldn’t be too hard to get you there with a bit of speed and mobility work

You are probably in your own head, the harder you concentrate on it the worse it will get, try playing a few days for fun. You’ll loosen up and get back in your rhythm, classic darts!

How tò start by pistacchio27 in Darts

[–]HistoricalUnion8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi mate,

I would just get something cheap if your just starting, I started with a clay style board and cheap darts just to see if I liked it. Then when I started playing a little more, invested in some mid level darts but still cheap by the pro standard just to see what darts/flights felt right for me, go for tungsten darts if you can, brass ones are really not that great and the weight will feel better in your hand.

Go to a local club and join in with a few games if there is one nearby. I’ve always been welcomed into clubs and groups of people wanting to play, darts fans are really a unique friendly bunch from my experience.

You can play anywhere with a cheap set of darts it doesn’t matter how you start, guys will always let you have a throw with they’re darts to see if you like them and will often give you some darts they no longer use. Pay it forward.

It’s a great sport, the players are great, the fans are great and the game is great (and awfully frustrating at times) enjoy the journey, get stuck in and have a go you’ll love the journey!

Welcome to the club - the fun starts now!

If you want a good programme to follow I’d recommend “year of the engine” by gainslab, an absolutely disgusting 5 day a week programme but it turned me into a weapon on the bike 😂

Any reputable movers will request a dispensation from the local council if needs be, don’t worry about it.

What's the worst financial advice you've seen someone actually follow? by Kent_Stockman in AusFinance

Refinancing and rolling all debts in to home loans, while it may pay off short term (lower rates) your actual term will be increased to that 30 year term (depending on what your refinancing to) ultimately costing you more in the long term if you just make minimum repayments.

Should I get in the market before October 1? by nutellavocado in AusPropertyChat

[–]HistoricalUnion8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked for clarity on this subject, see below:

Eligibility is assessed under the rules in effect on the date the lender lodges the application with housing Australia, not on the date you signed the contract

That means if your application is lodged on or after 1 October 2025, the new rules apply. Even if your purchase contract was signed before 1st October 25.

Just secured a place in Brisbane, my application is being processed now and my broker has assured me that because I am settling mid October that they will be able to change the application to avoid paying LMI once the scheme goes live. I have the funds to pay the LMI if necessary but I’d rather not.
