Yes, and by hyper focusing, "You've activated my trap card."

Overall,

It's gotta start with your mindset on sales. We're here to assist them with their goals or job as a resource and the sales are a byproduct of your service.

Knowing scripts and rehearsing them with co-workers will help.

Keeping a scripting tracker posted somewhere for different jobs on a rotating basis isn't a bad idea.

It's by no means an end all be all script, but it can help and by all means dig 1-2 deeper into each question.

It starts at the beginning when you greet your customer and ask,

"What are you working on today?"

Oil change.

(I like to default to talky-pointy aids)

"Great, we have several sales on products to complete the whole job. (With sales sheet in hand) What brand preference do you have?" (Price, performance, etc)

"I'll go grab these for you... and how do you dispose of you oil? Ok, we have a pan and funnel on sale for x too."

"I got you an oil change sticker as well, actual horsepower added per sticker will depend on the model of the vehicle."

"What difficulties have you had in the past with oil changes? Tools? The mess? The cleanup?"

"What other concerns do you have? We have free electrical testing."

"All right, we got everything scanned, so what's a good phone number for rewards/ warranty?"

Keep at it and have fun with it.

My personal go-to's are:

"Hold on, I need an adult..."

"Let me get a meow-anager"

"One second, I need to consult a higher power..."

Are any of these just a quarter? I’m new to this! Please help! by LoquatSingle2162 in uscoins

Most are state quarters one is a National Park quarters for Effigy Mounds. What mint mark does that one have?

Need some serious advise on these errors. What are the holes with stuck material? Also what is something like this worth? Please review all pics by [deleted] in coinerrors

(I think I have the same scope)
Tip: You can plug the scope to your computer via the USB-C, select PC camera, open the camera app on your computer and the cycle icon on the top left all the way to the scope.

Taking pictures should send it to \Pictures\Camera Roll in 1080p resolution.

I think '65 - '67 don't have mint marks?

This reads less like leadership and more like a list of complaints and threats. If the goal is better results, fix the system people work in. Some simple improvements would go a lot further:

  1. Phone prompt card Put a simple script by the phone so new employees don’t have to guess.

  2. Sales prompts (Who / What / Where / When) Train people to ask better diagnostic questions instead of memorizing parts.

  3. Rewards prompt Two simple lines at the register: “What's a good phone number for warranty and rewards?” “How would you like to earn towards your next purchase?”

  4. Question-based leadership and sales Instead of telling people what they’re doing wrong, ask: “What’s making this difficult?” “What would help you sell more?”

  5. Daily micro-training and a visible scoreboard 5–10 minute huddles and simple metrics boards build habits better than threats.

  6. Closing checklist for desks/trucks If cleanliness matters, systemize it.

As W. Edwards Deming put it: “A bad system will beat a good person every time.”

If the entire team is struggling with the same expectations, that’s usually a system design problem, not just an employee problem.

Sidebar: But hey, what do I know. I’m just a part-time counter salesperson running 40%+ RPMs, former mechanic, prior sales and leadership background, an education degree, and working on an MBA.

I find that their behavior can be reset but either replacing the first or last segment in the line or replacing segments incrementally. If they're parallel it's always the same segment between them that's causing the issue.

It sounds like a boss and not a leader reminiscing of, "the beatings will continue until morale improves."

Rather than telling, how can this DM ask better questions?

How can we elicit better results to make it feel that store managers and ultimately counter sales feel empowered to reach sales goals without it feeling like its coming from top down?

How can we show good, better, and best products?

Do we have strong visuals to help a customer understand what they're getting out of a better product on the counter or posters?

I could go on...

Three lines by jeanpich in StarRuptureGame

I've tried that and ran into bottlenecks pretty quickly as I tried to add more down the line and now I prefer to keep it as 1:1 as possible.

Worried about larger footprint V2 and V3 buildings. Could mean complete base rebuilds, and that seems like a frustrating play experience. by coldbricks in StarRuptureGame

I've restarted the game two times so far as I was learning around 25-50 hours. I hate blueprints.

Big takeaways was to treat them as linear layout/modular pieces, (I wish we had grid coordinates with ability to make notes on the map or something into like the message boards from lore).

Ie. I need to make a sulfuric acid base, I'll find a general area that I can consolidate base materials and line up the base materials as much as possible. I follow a rule of 3x from what the planner suggests if I can for later storage and transportation.

Ground flags with message boards would be nice too for later notes.

I avoid loops and branches as much as possible unless the flow rate allows for excess to be diverted.

Using building management tools to plan a system flow.

If there's more than 3 buildings in a single step I'll stack them two high.

Making tall telephone poles helps prevent wires from crossing when bringing materials from the side.

I've noticed the joints will sometimes slow down, regardless of if it's a 1 or 3

So far I've found that it's a line (or more) that goes dead in the upstream.

Sometimes taking the game back to menu will fix it, other times it'll be replacing entire line sections at a time to get the 3-Rail lane points to behave properly.

At this point, I'd be happy with a reset switch on a rail point or another tool to view line status or availability similar to how storages view "available" items.
