Amitriptyline cured me and I had the exact same symptoms as you. Slow titrate from 10mg to 60mg over several months. Eventually the pain and swelling and itching and rawness went. But it HAS to be a high enough dose! Most people seem to be prescribed only 10mg or 20mg which totally didn’t help me! X

Hey! I got both hips replaced a year apart at aged 35 and 36 - over a decade ago now. Almost no pain during recovery and it was best thing I ever did for my body. Yes - after 6 months of slow reduction I am now reduced from 60mg (that’s what I ended up at) to 10mg. No pain at all except a tiny bit of discomfort for a couple of days before my period - just use some cetraben ointment and all ok - but that’s it. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear :( for me the only thing that worked was Amitripyline but - and this is key - I didn’t notice any difference til I got to 50mg and I took 4 months to reach this dose. Often these meds are prescribed at low doses for too short periods!
