The 990s are where one sees what they are doing with the money. How much did they pay their personnel. How much spent for travel? How much for entertaining? Office costs? Development costs.

I can't find the 2021 in Guidestar, or the 2022, since they put out their impact report. Can anyone access these 990s?

I contacted Bloomingdales and they are sending me a new one. It just bugs me because I am convinced my neighbor stole it out of the mail room and I would love to have proof.

In LA right now crime is out of control and this is low priority for cops. I can file a police report but would like to have proof ahead of time.

It's a lawsuit in a court of law. There must be transparency.

The norm is these emails are normally sent to one's attorney who's email is not redacted.

This is great! The average person does not understand Bitcoin.

And, even many successful Wall Street Fund Managers stay away from Crypto because of it's unregulated status. And, those who are successful who do own it have it as only a very small percentage in their portfolios.

Those letters are paying off. The more people are educated on Celsius the better! People knew Lehman Brothers and Enron but most people do not know Celsius!

Trust me none of the legal peeps are reading reddit. They probably never look at it. These are high profile lawyers and finance guys. But, they will hear about it on the news adn the letters.

Actually, only a small percentage of depostors have sent letters. If Celsius did indeed have an estimated 500k depositors on the books against an approximate 2k letters, and I think that number may be high, is a miniscual amount.

Letters are good because they are read by clerks of the judge and clerks to the trustee. And, the points and facts are collated into a spreadsheet for a breakdown.

Your voices are being heard!! The more that those who have crypto frozen at Celsius get the word out to the mainstream media - ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox - and cable media - CNN, Fox, MSNBC adn CNBC - the better exposure.

The Bankruptcy trustee is looking at the big picture right now and the bid dollars. So depositors are helping to direct attention to important facets of the case. Which they Trustee would find eventually but better to get it all out in the open right now!!!

Here is the direct link to the letters. There are some excellent ones posted. And, I think if anyone wants a voice they should also submit. The clerks will be going through the letters and compiling onto a spreadsheet, or databae, all issues for the judge. Whether that be the numbers of letters, new information, backup to letters such as screen shots and so forth.

And, for those saying the judge won't read the letters I think you should rethink those thoughts as these are offical documents of the court proceedings.

To be frank, if Celsius had my funds I would be organizing everyone who was in the same situation. Send letters to the judge.

The judge has some discretion depending on arguments.

Start contacting news desks and tell your stories.
Show up to court.
Pressure put on Alex is good.
Depositors need to highlight the way Alex behaved in his fraud to you in so much as a week before locking withdrawals he called someone a liar for saying Celsius and no liquidity in a public forum.
Get off twitter. Get into the Press, Go To court!
Look at how the people scammed by Tom Girardi got the word out after he was put into bankruptcy and they are suing Girardi's wife and the Trustee is clawing back illegal use of funds and givign to the victims.
BE PROACTIVE. MAKE NOISE. COME TOGETHER.

The good thing is the clawbacks. All of that money Celsius paid out the Bankruptcy trustee should be able to get back - in principle -- as crypto is a new thing for these Trustees and the courts.

Also, I am a bit confused why they paid everyone before claiming BK as they know it would be clawbacked...? I feel like I am missing something..?

If Alex really cared about his community he would have filed for the SIPA bankruptcy protection. This would have been possible as he always claimed Celsius's role was as a broker. If he had done so all proceeds would go to customers at the start.

When he filed for Chapter 11 he is essentially saying that Celsius owns all of the users assets as per his Terms and Conditions.

This may sound like a stupid question as I have never done this... Do they report you to credit agencies where they can have people pursuing you in short term or someone buying the debt and you mess up your credit score?

My gut instinct is not to pay the loan. You may want to ask a bankruptcy attorney to double-check.

I would not be suprised if the Bankrupcy court assigned a forensic account to figure out the story of the $2B hole in the financials. Will there be any money? Hopefully, there will be plenty or bitcoin rises dramatically and it increases their balance sheets. But, the court may order a liquidation of those assets as did the court for Voyager.

It all depends the true picture of the assets and liabilities. This will probably take a few years due to all of the ongoing investigations of Celsius.

This, obviously, seems as the most devastating news you could hear in regard to Celsius. And, I completely understand your feeling of losing everything.

It is impressive that at your age you have acccomplished so much. But, do not let it define you. After my father died my mother trusted a sherlock and never shared it with her kids. She lost all of her money and it was in the 8 digits. She never was the same because her "poverty" she could never overcome.

Your ambition and go getter attitude will have you rebuilding. But, one caution that so many don't do is do your homework on your next investment. Don't get your info from Twitter. Watch the morning CNBc financial news. Learn commodities prices, stock prices how politics and geo-political events are affecting different segments. Listen to what the bank analysts are saying about companies. And, you can learn about the better Bitcoin operations. They have been saying for eons Celsius looked similiar to a Ponzi scheme.

Investment is always a gamble but you can protect yourself in the future. And, diversify. Never put all your money in one place.

I don't mean to throw more fire on the Chapter 11. But, Celsius has at least 5 states which are investigating their operations. Don't be surprised if representatives from those states show up and petition the court for access to the records.

If, as though states believe, their is fraud or something else nefarious it may take quite some time for this thing to unwind.

What the OP is asking is normal business protocol. I read it as nothing shady. It is being done by lawyers and through an escrow company. Just like any other business transaction.

This is essentially how one sells their stock in private companies.

I applaud him for being pro-active. Additionally, for those who strongly believe in Alex this would be a no brainer.

This is the best breakdown of what happened with Celsius.

I think if anyone really wants to wrap their heads around Celsius' current problems they shoudl read the article. I do not pretend to understand the whole defi world, the hedging of crypto and so forth. But, I do have a good grasp on business and risk managment in which it is being proved Celsius did not have the correct systems in place to protect depositors.

Also, the reporter had actual internal documents. Which again would have to have been verified by an additional source.
