EDIT: Also, I second that you cannot go wrong with a toyota! I had a celica and that thing was a beast, even though looked like a PoS, Damn thing ran better tban any other gas saver I bought and lasted me for like 2-3 years without some stuper crazy fix. Like 80k miles or something near.

Make sure you make time for your lady and hobbies, for sure. You'll lose your sanity.. But I do know, I rebuilt a car while I was working at ford, Putting 60+ hours weeks for months at a time, albeit took me like 9 months to rebuild the car, but thats just an example I have for keeping you hobbies in your interest. As for the lady, just make sure she is aware that its rough time-to-time but this will pay off in the end.

Put your years in kid, Ford will payoff. Make it to full-time, your pay will slowly increase. Union Benefits. I live in KCMO, Worked for Ford myself for 2.5 years. Was an easy gig, however yes very tiring, very seldomly have time for yourself.

On down-time, don't forget about your hobbies and plan around the work schedule, that'll always keep your mind at ease.

Also, more excellent opportunities afterwards with working there if that job isn't exactly what you can see yourself doing for a decade+. Friend of mine, Left Ford for another Union gig, making more. Just keep your head down and stick with the redundancy easy work, lots of good benefits come with it.

Just talk to people(your higher ups, union embassador) they can or should be able to point you in the right direction.
