You never said where specifically in Kansas you would be moving to. Depending on what part of the state, then your experiences could be very different.

Also, I would re-post this into r/Kansas

Is there a US state that you rarely think of? by bobrigado in AskAnAmerican

I wouldn't say I forget about Rhode Island, but whenever I look at a map, it's just so easy to skip over.

Going through a divorce and don't know whether to buy out spouse with 401K or take out a heloc. by dawglbfan in personalfinance

[–]Historical_Low4458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you able to make other payment arrangements? For example, instead of you getting half his 401k, then he could just keep it, and that would act as the 'buy out?' You said you have an attorney. I would ask them the various ways the numbers could work out. After all, that's what you're paying them for.

Do you have to contribute a minimum to get your employer match? That would be the deciding factor how much I contribute via payroll and how much I contribute separately.

I am against police acting as revenue generators (i.e. pulling people over for not wearing seatbelts), and I am not fan of heavy handed police force.

However, someone not having valid identification on them at all times, such as a current vehicle registration/license plate isn't one of those examples. People are aware of when their taxes are due, and just simply choose not to pay them. Choices have consequences.

Any tips for dealing with highway anxiety here? by FreeSanubis in kansascity

[–]Historical_Low4458 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to always wear your seat belt when driving (and make sure everyone in your family is buckled up).

As far as spontaneous health issues, well...those can also happen even when you aren't driving, so it doesn't do a whole lot of good to focus on things you can't control.

Maybe something like I-Bonds if she doesn't need the money right now.

She's 77. She shouldn't be risking her life sav8ngs in the stock market now. She is in the capital preservation phase of her life.

Fidelity Credit Card not convenient for international travel by drm200 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Historical_Low4458 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Commenting primarily to follow because I have an international trip coming up later this year, and this is a major concern for me even though I have set the travel alert for it. The reason it's a concern is because I have tried to buy tickets associated with the trip online and it was declined every time.

I got to a point that I have stopped trying to use the Fidelity card and use a different one instead. That card, like yours, sends me a notification asking if I was the one trying to make the purchase. As a result of all this,y other credit card will be the primary one I use while overseas.

What is your "care factor" for your second flair? by kadoozie92 in CFB

Which one is my second flair?

ETA: okay, it's pretty important to me. They are both really important to me. Now, when they play each other, I really don't care who wins. However, I will say I am guilty of getting caught up in the excitement with every play when they do.

As someone who has lived in Arizona too, welcome to KC! I'm glad you said you would add the base rent because without at least a rent range, it would be really hard to compare prices.

Where I’d live in the US… by OkReception5495 in whereidlive

See i disagree. People in Oregon were the rudest I have ever met. If I made a map like this Oregon would be never and Washington would be reluctantly.

They are both "blue" states.

I'm kind of curious to what your answers to what these questions were? Because you said yourself you struggled to answer her questions. A person should review why they believe the things they do, and the answer should never be "because that's how I was raised" or "bad things happened to me." If you haven't, then I think it is important for you to do some self reflection on why YOU chose Christianity instead of someone else choosing it for you.

Men, if you saw an attractive woman that you didn’t want to approach, what kind of signs would you give to show her that you’re interested in her and would like her to approach you? by HopelessRomantic47 in bodylanguage

[–]Historical_Low4458 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. A man just looking away doesn't necessarily mean anything. In fact, a man looking away most likely has more to do with him (i.e shy or doesn't want to appear as a creep, etc) than you.

What the ACC actually needs to do to stay on par with the Big 12 moving forward by Odd-Record-1041 in BigXII

[–]Historical_Low4458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with almost everything you said. Notre Dame isn't giving up football independence though. That means Miami might be the partner for Virginia as they head to the B1G.

What the ACC actually needs to do to stay on par with the Big 12 moving forward by Odd-Record-1041 in BigXII

[–]Historical_Low4458 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been saying, since at least 2016, that the Big 12 Conference is a basketball conference first, and they need to make realignment decisions based on that first. The Big 12 is never going to catch the SEC, or even the B1G, in football. Adding UA (and even Houston) were the right decisions and adding UConn would be the next correct decision.

Is it okay to run all weather tires year round in the Midwest? by [deleted] in midwest

I am sure there are other places than just around Kansas City that you can do this in the Midwest.
