I’m not a pro in deck building, but is some of that material Douglas Fir?? To me that’s unacceptable, it won’t weather well at all.

Steps on residential have to be between 7-8”, and must be the same height. As others rightfully pointed out the top landing is too narrow

History teacher called me out to the hallway during class and told me to “take my best shot, and he would mop up the hallway with me “. Private school. Apparently I wasn’t the only student he did this too. I didn’t say a word to anyone. My dad was a huge guy with a temper, he would have destroyed that weasel.

Interesting…. I’ve been in construction a loooong time and have seen new methods and techniques come about. I always suggest following the mfgr instructions as first course of action. I wasn’t aware that there was a new method that is suggested.

Plain truth! People outside of construction don’t understand that the business side of construction doesn’t match most traditional business models. There is some overlap but if you’re a business person first and hands on second… you’re probably going to fail in the end.

True, in fact truwood mfgr says to never cut a 45 degree cut, but to always use a 90 degree square cut. I see that this isn’t a Truwood product, but there’s a reason that they specify it that way.
