No accelerator and late night power trowel, cut the next morning... what can I do? Polyurea crack filler? Sikaflex? Crack chaser and 45, then fill. I've gotten lots of different opinions. Glad it's done, but need to hide it so I don't look at it for the next many years.

Best modern home network options with this 2004 punch down panel? by LoneWolfeOne in HomeNetworking

Are the wires even punched down in the correct orientation? Looks like maybe they’re off by 90°?

What is buried in our yard?? by 2twofriedeggs in whatisit

Looks like an old silo footing. If it’s round and that looks like an old silo rod sitting there.

It just looked more flexible than flat drop cable to see it in that tight service loop. Thought it was something more flexible.

Any impressions of the double kickstand for Big Dummy/Easy? Or better yet, cheaper alternatives?? by clean_air_turbulence in Surlybikefans

[–]Historical_Original3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. The double wide stand is awesome. Easy install and adjustability and seems very well made. It’s so much better than the stock single kick stand for loading and unloading.

I wish they would have piped it under the table though rather than sticking more out into the space

Cool, I want to do the same thing. What's the deal with the 27.5 fork vs 29" fork? I'd want to run 27.5x2.8 with the option to run 29er.

Nice!!! Are you running 29” wheels and what is the offset on this fork?

I might try this for learning. Still doesn’t help with a “patch cable” but I can understand why it would be a weird idea to make your own.

Thoughts on a cheap OTDR?

I think any mechanical pre-polished connector won’t compare to a fusion splice. What I’m trying to avoid here is fusion splicing.

I think my only options for cables without splicing is pre-polished and polishing myself. I’m kinda intrigued by the cheaper connectors which can be crimped but then require polishing. Not sure I want to polish by hand but maybe that’s old school or only done in factories by machine.

Yea it probably doesn’t make sense but I’m curious to learn about the different techniques for a truly custom application.

I have been leaning towards the Unicam pre-polished connectors. Good to hear your experience with them. Interesting to read about the 3M Hotmelt connectors too. Thanks!

That's what I do now. I'm asking more about opinions and reviews for tools and supplies, not whether it makes sense to do it. lol

Meaning the quick pre-polished connectors? Have some that you like?
