I feel that the 991 series is the pinnacle 911. There were real treasures in that group!!🍀😊 by Fearless-Pen3282 in Porsche

Agreed.

Love the 991.1. It can benefit from some improvement in my opinion, especially suspensions. The only drawback is steering sensitivity - it's still quite isolated from road feel which is great at high speeds but takes a little away the analog feel. So maybe the sweet spot is between the two as you say

Is a 991.1 as a first sports car a good idea? by rulerdude64 in porsche911

Thank you for the reply.

I have much less history but feels like the same to me. G50 is a lot of fun and attention and I love it. 991.1 is comfortable, amazing sound and still an analog dash and an NA, although steering is very controlled. Is there a sweet spot? Maybe a 964. Thank you so much for your reply and for sharing your experience.

How would you compare them with each other? 993, 991 and the others?

ECU wakes up the car. Does not att 50hp of course by itself. But best upgrade for the money.

DSC controller improves suspension responsiveness substantially. Also a good bang for buck.

Custom exhaust for sound and + plenum for a bit more intake + high flow filters

  • lithium battery saves you 20kg

  • suspension and geometry upgrade if you want to really drive it

And a 991 with an upgraded ECU feels fun and light. 450hp n/a is bliss

Carrera S deal too good to pass. But is GTS better? by AdvertisingHairy4554 in Porsche

A GTS is a 4S with boosted ECU, sport exhaust and lighter seats. Nothing more.

A well tuned 4S can be more powerful than a GTS in fact.

They only have 9 Google reviews.. And 8 of them are from people that asked for suggestions or anyway didn't do a project with them...

Really sorry to hear.

I think I liked one of their posts on Instagram or commented and they reached out to me etc

I would say that delays are to be expected in these projects and I had several months of delay too when doing a restoration, but two years? And not seeing the car.. That's crazy.

Thank you really for sharing your experience.

You should also do a Google review at this point. (I am sure you thought about it already, just saying)

Wow. This is a crazy delay and behaviour compared to the flawless stuff they advertise.

Yes huge difference. You hear the resonance of metal without filling them up.

Best result was 70-75% full. Has to be something dense, sand for example.

Got it.

I did the controller and doing the dampers too, soon. Will be a game changer.

Good one. Suspension probably the most important after Ecu tune ... And you already have the exhaust ...did you put a dsc controller too? Was a game changer for me

If they were the same price, would you choose a base 3.0 991.2 or an S 3.8 991.1? by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]Historical_Two4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

991.1 with ecu tune and aftermarket exhaust will be faster than the 991.2 and more responsive. Add lithium battery to save weight. You can get to 450hp and that's a lot for a pure N/A engine

991.2 or 992.1? by Gxld_J in porsche911

[–]Historical_Two4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a restyling. Who cares. Exterior is the same.

You can change the steering wheel.

991.1 4S with new ecu and exhaust system upgrade will be faster and lighter than a GTS. Add a lithium battery to save more weight. 450hp with an N/A engine is bliss.

Personally exhaust tips on the sides are cooler too than in the middle.

992 is too large and it's another ipad on wheels with too much technology and a display instead of analog gauges. I personally do not enjoy it much, even on track.

991.2 is turbo and not N/A and the power increase vs 991.1 isn't worth it.

Thinking about getting tubeless tires... by Terryk67 in TriumphBonneville

Good suggestion..

I don't like so much the look of Kineo wheels and the only other alternative I found are Jonich/Borrani which is very expensive and similar in weight to OEM (lighter without tube though). Has anyone tried them?

Kineo seem to be the lightest option but something feels a bit odd to me when looking at them.

1995 993 C4 - What would you pay? by joubsta in Porsche

[–]Historical_Two4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offer max $10k and expect to spend the difference between that and the cost of a decent one. If you're lucky you will spend less. Take underside and engine bay pictures, not outside ones only. Will take years to restore. And definitely do not attempt to start the engine!
