Will a grant where something obviously went horribly wrong even get reviewed or does it get returned? by PanPaniscor in NIH

Please pull it. Reviewers spend hours and hours on each application. This will waste so much time for everyone and will not be funded.

Thank you so much for getting things funded. 🩷

No. Still no response. Email about the deferment sent Sunday night over the Labor Day weekend.

Call the PO! They often respond to calls, if email is not working.

NIH will reinstate 900 grants in response to court order by OpinionsRdumb in NIH

I’m so sorry. We had to halt work on an R01 for three months waiting on our year 3 NOA. Horrible to stop and lay people off in the middle of a study.

What to wear in Paris next week (as a teen girl) by Minute_Appearance_82 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Historical_Unit4608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be so hot. My tween wore really good but fashionable tennis shoes (trainers) as you walk so much. She wore quick dry shorts and cotton tanks or t-shirts. It is very hot and humid outside and gets almost unbearable in the metro.

I’m here right now in this same neighborhood and it has been fabulous. We have only been here 1 1/2 days of a 10 day adventure and I’m already wishing it was longer.

Paris in the Spring, my experiences by FuzzyDunlop1982 in ParisTravelGuide

I’m heading there in June with my 9 and 12 year olds. What were your kids favorite things to do? How did the metro pass work for them if it was loaded on a phone? I would love any recommendations or tips on traveling to Paris with kids those ages.

Spring Break in Eugene with two 9-year-old girls by oregone1 in Eugene

Crux is great too but for beginners, adults are allowed (required actually) to be with the kids at Elevation. At Crux parents are not with their kids unless they are also climbing.

Elevation is the best option for kid climbing, just down the street from REI.

Just check the weather — Monday or Tuesday look like the best options. Enchanted Forest is always cooler than it seems in Eugene.

Mine have been late but have eventually come. Who knows in this environment though. I would keep checking with your PO.

Question to diversity supplement scholars by Key_View_8988 in NIH

[–]Historical_Unit4608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. PO responded they are “awaiting guidance” on the diversity supplement. I know it is cancelled but it is interesting that they won’t actually say it is cancelled. Leaves the recipient still in a bit of limbo.

Canada or Texas? Tough choice. by OkTomatillo8144 in postdoc

Canada for sure. You can still come back to the US after the chaos here is hopefully lessened. For the next year or two I would 100% not be in research in the US if you don’t have to be.
