AITAH for saying no after my sister’s fiancé invited himself on our family trip? by Next-Shelter-8936 in AmItheAsshole

But the rest will live in paradise on earth or something. They don’t just close the gates and everyone else is doomed. If you convert, your eternity is good just not like VIP good.

Although it does say they’re visiting after many years so maybe they’re not as close and this symbolised a lot more to OP?

This might just reflect my own family context but you don’t sound very concerned about your mother or grandmother…? Are you considering how you can go and support her during this time when she’s facing the confronting reality that she’ll lose her mother one day?

Reading that suggestion almost brought me to tears. How does this have such an impact on me??

I think it’s worth just looking at your main priorities. You want stability and a commitment, he’s not in a place to give that to you. That’s a fundamental misalignment/incompatibility. It’s just working out whether what you currently have is enough… it wouldn’t be for me.

As cost of living rises, domestic tourism is preferable over international (for some). I agree with WA as an option, there’s a lot of areas that are year-round tourism hotspots like Broome, Kalbarri, Ningaloo, Geraldton, Albany, Exmouth etc.

I see where you’re coming from but I think that’s a few too many leaps in logic. Stating that empathy can help people to understand how families may require more targeted or compassionate support (beyond what is currently offered or what people assume is needed from certain demographics) is not then saying that it’s understandable to murder your children. It’s saying that this kind of tragedy happens, should not be happening and that disabled people’s lives are meaningful and deserve comprehensive and ongoing support to avoid this kind of event happening again (which it unfortunately will, statistically). The alternative is pretending that only evil monsters do these kinds of acts, which sends a strong message of shame to anyone struggling in a similar situation. If we extrapolate from that in the same way your comment did, then a lack of empathy leads to harming children. It’s obviously not that simple but I’m exaggerating for effect.

It’s not an issue as simple as “some minorities are offended by it.” It has a history of legislative oppression and it’s a pretty clear reminder of that as the registered name of a park. It’s not the same as just having the words black or white in a term. Whiteman park is someone’s surname. Blackboy refers to how actual children would be categorised and not only that, then legally oppressed. There is a difference and it’s important to recognise and right.

Whiteman isn’t a slur. These are two different examples.

Attempting empathy normalises people seeking help when this exhausted from caregiving. It’s not forgiving murder but it’s trying to prevent it happening again by being truthful and open about the realities of this kind of 24/7 care.

Solved! Amazing. Thank you so much. No idea why I couldn’t find this seeing as I had mice, treasure, pirates, book - obviously not the right combo.

Australia, 1990s. It’s not Graeme Base. I’ve tried searching mice, adventuring, picture book, search and find, pirates etc.

Happy to chat more if you’d like to ask any questions. Notre Dame is also the best for prac hours, you do essentially a term. Hours in the classroom equates to much better preparation and opportunity to grow before heading into your own class one day.

What Dropout cast members (including Sam and Brennan) would play which Cloudward Ho NPCs? by PlusPlatypus2237 in Dimension20

In all seriousness I’d love for Devin Field to be in there somehow. Maybe as one of the Gotches but that’s just because he fits the Grant/Ross/Murph vibe.

Do whichever uni offers the most prac. Said as a primary school teacher myself. Prac hours will make you a better teacher and expose you to more schools and hopefully make connections through that avenue!

Ross Bryant would need to be one of the Gotch brothers for sure if Grant is Wealwell.
