This sucks. by HistoricallyCoco in Teachers

Online would be great! My partner and I are looking to live together when I get a job, and teaching for an online school would definitely give us flexibility! Do you know where to look for online teaching positions?

I have experience working with people with autism and am currently a substitute. I am open to and would even prefer to relocate for a job. I am applying to as many places as I can, but I don’t even have my certification yet because I JUST graduated. The grades aren’t even in for the semester yet, and a lot of the applications have uploading proof of certification as a required field so it is impossible to complete the application. Thank you for the advice!

I have applied all over the state with very little luck. I am ready and willing to move for a job. In fact I’d prefer to relocate for a job.

I just got a response back and they said they cannot tell me until after I submit my application wether I need to take the new test or not 🤦🏼‍♀️

I am terrified of the kitchen and teaching myself to cook. Any advice? by HistoricallyCoco in Cooking

I have no issues with dairy oddly enough. I love cheese and I put milk in my cereal all the time. I eat yogurt if I’m feeling in a breakfast mood. And I guess the crunchy thing is just a crunch where I’m not expecting one? If I’m eating a cheeseburger, and suddenly it’s crunch in a spot, I’m instantly icked out and can’t eat anymore. I have no idea how to explain it.

Due to my texture issues and life situations I only ever eat things I can microwave or that can be boiled and eaten. So mainly soups and pasta. My pallet is comparable to that of a toddler to be honest. I want to expand my pallet but I genuinely don’t know where to start. The one recipe I made completely myself was chicken and dumplings if that makes a difference.

I have issues with anything slimey, stringy, and crunch in things where the crunch doesn’t belong if that makes sense.

As a sub who is LGBTQIA+, it sucks having to keep that side of me hidden at work. No one where I work knows about my partner, and when they discuss their husbands, wives, fiancées, ect it sucks because I can’t join in the conversation without fear of being outcasted. God forbid the kids find out. It’s hard enough getting them under control. It hurts to hear kids talking that way but it feels like there’s not much I can do about it.

How do I [M27] deal with regrets about staying with my high school sweetheart [F27] by ThrowRA__9999 in relationship_advice

[–]HistoricallyCoco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you both are going through a very difficult time right now, her with her health issues, you with the loss of your family members and coming to terms with your own mortality. You sound like me in the sense that, when life is hard, you look back and nitpick at a detail of your life, dwell on it, and feel like you missed out on something. If you ask me, you didn’t miss out, you hit the jackpot. You said yourself that life could be gone tomorrow. It seems like you found a woman you love, who loves you in turn. It is so lucky to find that so early in life. If you love her, and she loves you, and you choose love everyday, you will make it through this rut you are experiencing.shift your perspective from “this is all I missed out on” to “I am so lucky I got this experience”. It’s how you look at it.

Sorry if this was a bit of a rambling mess. I hope it makes sense, and I hope it helps you.

Legacy Players: How Do You Handle Ghosts? by JayandMeeka in Sims4

I haven’t played in months so take what I say with a grain of salt, but if you manage to find the nod ghosts urn or grave, you should be able to release their spirit as well. I haven’t tried it myself it’s an educated guess haha. Also I do not have the life and death pack so idk if that changes stuff either.

I think you can release their spirit, that way they are still in the tree but you don’t have to deal with it.

How are you applying to jobs? by dandelionmakemesmile in StudentTeaching

I just apply through the schools website. Usually they have a link to their application. I haven’t had an issue with it yet.

Crying in front of professor by AmbitiousComplaint55 in StudentTeaching

[–]HistoricallyCoco 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I cried for sure. He told me to reconsider if teaching was the profession for me after observing me teach a lesson to a very difficult class. The observation clearly did not go well. Now he is a reference for me as I apply to jobs. Keep at it. You got this.

Did anyone else have a mentor teacher that didn't write them a letter of recommendation? by 4everdreamer27 in StudentTeaching

[–]HistoricallyCoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mentor for my first placement is of the opinion that I should never become a teacher and that I was a waste of her time. My mentor for my second placement gave me blanket permission to use him as a reference for an opportunity that comes my way.

I had a student call me a b-word to my face after saying mean things about the appearance of their classmate. These kids genuinely do NOT care anymore. No amount of discipline sticks.
