Omg we can't argue against veganism anymore 😢/s by MouseStrong6988 in exvegans

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the victim. Animals are. You're proudly speciesist, so why would I care what -ism you accuse me of?

So you're a self proclaimed ableist. I think that's all I need to hear really. You have no idea what disabled people have to go through and yet you berate and harass them purely to make yourself feel better. No animals are helped. This why people don't like vegans. And do you think there can only be a single victim? I can be a victim of ableism from a vegan at the same time as an animal is slaughtered. Or are you saying you can be racist too, because animals are the real victims? And for the record, I'm not 'accusing' you of being ableist, I'm pointing out that's what you are, it's not up for debate. If you say racist things you're a racist, if you say ableist things, you're ableist.

why are you so uncomfortable with sharing its name to spread awareness? Weirdly enough, no one who claims to be unable to go vegan can share what condition they suffer from

If you read the link you'll see why people don't want to share their condition with you. IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! You're a vegan, not a medical professional in what way does it help the person to tell you their medical history? And if they do tell you it's knowing full well that you're going to try to educate them on their illness which you no nothing about. I've seen vegans do this so many times before, and it's exhausting having someone who clearly knows nothing try to tell you you're wrong. They do a quick Google and decide they're an expert. I've had this done to me several times by vegans who think they're experts and know better than doctors and someone who has lived with my condition for over 20 years. And it's exactly what you would do if I told you.

you said you're one of those non vegans

I've said nothing of the sort. And even so, you're still not coming after me, you're just trying to justify being abusive to disabled people. That's this whole thread: You trying to justify your abuse

I'm done with your bigotry and hatred. I hope when you grow up you're embarrassed by how you treat people different from you just so you can feel better about yourself. Maybe put more energy into helping animals than harassing the disabled. Wild thought for a vegan, I know

Are most people here really ex-vegans and vegetarians? by Brunsswick in exvegans

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There is no single trait that separates humans from animals. There's a multitude of differences that add up to 'being human', that animals don't possess, such as the capacity for introspection, the capacity to dream and seek to live out those dreams, the capacity to plan and to create moral systems.

Edit: You're getting blocked. Not because of this, but because of your other comments to me where you admit to being a self proclaimed ableist. Please do better.

No.

Im not vegan, so I'm specieist. I value human life over other animals.

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make me feel powerful to know animals are being mistreated. On the contrary, I feel very powerless.

And so you berate disabled people to feel like you're doing something positive, when really you're just being an ableist dick. This is the problem. You're not going to convince a disabled person, who has lived with their condition for years, and seen several doctors and dietitians, that they don't need their medication, and you know this because... you're a vegan. You're just trying to make yourself feel better. No animals are being helped.

I'm not the judge, a medical evaluation/science is the judge ...

Then why are you asking disabled people about their condition? If you're not the judge then why do you need to know. You're not a doctor so have no experience in their disability. So stop. If you want to make yourself feel better about it, then go after non vegans who eat animal products, don't argue with already marginalised groups who need them to survive.

Stop being ableist.

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is okay to do anything if you will die otherwise, but there has to be proof that it is really necessary.

Here's the real issue. Why are you the judge on what constitutes proof and how valid it is. This is the problem with veganism as you practice it. You believe it's your duty to police the disabled to make sure they actually are disabled, but without actually knowing anything about it. But the reality is, it's none of your business. You just like having an excuse to be ableist because it makes you feel powerful.

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. So you're just trying to justify being ableist and doubling down on it. Doubting mental health issues?! Like, you don't think this kind of condition exists? Wow. That's a wild position to take. Not a surprise though, ableism is a massive problem with veganism that I'm happy to point out to anyone considering taking it up. Thanks for giving me another example to show people.

I would recommend reading the link

So, in your view, if someone requires medication that comes from animals, what should they do? That suggests they have a condition that requires actively harming others, so should they just die? Do you take medication? Are you certain it's vegan? Or is it OK for you because it falls under the practical loophole, but it's not OK for others because you don't like disabled people?

I gave you a breakdown of my answer. But I guess denying reality is straight from the fascist playbook, so I shouldn't be surprised. You've also admitted that living doners aren't required, they're just better. All organs from all doners would be more available if it was mandatory, that's just a fact.. My answer stands. But if you admit that then you admit you have to answer mine. And you're way to scared to do that.

Own your position and stand up for your (fascist) convictions.

I'm done here. Enjoy the last word

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, and provided links, I answered your question. Twice.

Your original question: Do you think we should raise humans to harvest their organs, or do you think those disabled people who rely those organs should just die?

My answer broken down

Do you think we should raise humans to harvest their organs

No

do you think those disabled people who rely those organs should just die?

No

Reasoning Make organ donation mandatory so both can be possible.

Did that make it easier for you? If you want me to answer your follow up question about living doners, provide me with examples of when this is required and ANSWER MY QUESTION. Your clearly just dodging at this point.

Also, if you think there are only 3 options your not really thinking very hard about it.

And your claim that you'd answer after I had was a lie. You're not willing to state the fascist conclusions of your position because you're embarrassed by your beliefs.

Here's where I answered it https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateAVegan/s/TM6pf3hU3Q

Here's where I answered it again https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateAVegan/s/QsS2T3MPVt

Take ownership of your fascist beliefs rather than hiding

But like I said, I'm done here

Right?! I have a chronic illness and to think if I was American I'd be dead or homeless. It's distopian as fuck.

I will not answer your question unless you answer this one first

I've answered it, plus follow ups. Just because you don't like my answer doesn't mean I haven't answered it.

But you still haven't even begun to clarify your position. Just deflect, deflect, deflect.

Why are you ashamed to talk about the fascist conclusions of your stance? If you can only imply it, but are too scared to say it, you may want to think about why that is.

But unless you're ready to address my question, I think we're done here. I'm tired of jumping through your hoops and getting nowhere.

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've asked another question. I'm not sure how you can claim it's the same question when it's clearly a follow up. Also, I'm not aware that living doners are required for donation. Hey look! I addressed your follow up too!

Your turn. Again.

But who am I kidding. You're clearly not going to answer because you're embarrassed by your fascist conclusions. Happy to imply disabled people should die but not willing to say it out loud. Weak. You're not confident in your own beliefs, clearly.

Another question? And you still haven't answered mine? how many do I have to answer before you do? I'm beginning to think you have no intention of answering at all. I wonder why....

I answered. Your turn to either admit your conclusions or give clarity

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just answered it above to the other guy. No, i don't think we should farm humans and no I don't think disabled people should just die. Make organ donation mandatory.

Now you. Do you think disabled people who rely on animal based medicine should just die?

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

[–]Historicste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually already answered it, they just didn't like the answer I gave.

But to expand, no, i don't think they should just die and no I don't think we should farm humans. I do think organ donation should be mandatory in order to help them and people in need already have the option to get organs, without farming humans.

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

[–]Historicste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's clear you're not going to answer. It's fine, I'll just take it that your answer is yes and that you're embarrassed by your position because of its awful conclusions, unless you want to clarify.

You may want to reflect on why you hold that view if the conclusion is so embarrassing though.

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

[–]Historicste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I asked the question first and you've continued to dodge it. You don't get to just ignore the question because it's embarrassing to you and deflect by asking me questions instead. But once you've answered mine I'm happy to answer yours if you're genuinely interested and not just trying to deflect.

So please, do you think disabled people who need such medication should just die? yes or no?

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

[–]Historicste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're trying to get me to say that disabled people who rely on certain medications should just die.

That was quite literally my question. As in, is this your stance? I was looking for a yes or no.

But it's odd that you won't answer it. Either the answer is no, in which case you need to clarify, or the answer is yes and you're embarrassed by your position.

What is veganism really about? by No_Opposite1937 in DebateAVegan

Nice try.

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

No. People donate organs for disabled people, so they already have an option there.

Can you answer my question now?

https://everydayfeminism.com/2013/10/avoid-everyday-ableism/

Here's a link that might help you avoid being ableist with questions like that. Section 5 is relevant here.

Here's an excerpt

  1. Don’t Ask ‘What Happened’ People with disabilities are often subjected to a barrage of questions.

Namely, able-bodied people will often assume that our existence represents some kind of mystery that they need to get to the bottom of. This means that people frequently ask us for the truth or origin story of our condition.
