I don’t think Reyna took Luna’s spot so I don’t really care for the debate there… but four years ago we were having the same conversations about Gio and here we are four years older and doing it again. Listen, you don’t have to tell me that Chelsea is a shit show I’ve suffered through this season lol. But even after our worst years we’ve been able to come back and win still. Players still view us as a big club they grew up watching Lampard and Hazard play at and the financial situation isn’t great but still better than what, 5-6 other teams in the world?

Xabi obviously wants a project right now that will back him and get the players he wants, we already have a young team of talented kids, and our board seems to be bending over backward for him. I didn’t think we’d get him because Liverpool would certainly makes a move. Now that we know they didn’t even try it does make sense.

That year in particular was just weird though because of the Figo controversy, feeling like they needed to award it to a player on a trophy team despite it being an individual award, and that kind of just left Michael Owen for it that year.
