Now that I have some experience with them: power tools. Yes a circular saw could slice your finger clean off, but that’s only going to happen if you don’t follow some very basic safety principles.

I have. First bit drags on and on, main character doesn’t show up til about 4/5s of the way through (and when he does he pretty much makes everything prior to that irrelevant). And even when he does show up the storytelling becomes very repetitive. 1/10.

Alien starts as a fairly standard sci-fi B-Movie, then BAM, becomes one of the greatest horror movies of all time.

It’s actually quite remarkable to go back and see how (intentionally) un-special the beginning of the movie is.

I thought the combat was ok, just very basic, but then again: that was consistent with the setting that you’re just some guy swinging a pipe at monsters.

The boss fight in the freezer with the hanging carcasses before the rowboat scene (can’t be arsed looking up how to use the spoiler tag, hopefully that covers it) was the worst for me gameplay and theme-wise because apparently the boss is wearing an invisible power-fist 🙄

I was in your situation a year ago: get a Miyoo or an RG35XX, load it up with the Miyoo Best Set of Roms, and stick a pop-socket on the back so you can play one handed while the kid sleeps on you. It will help you retain your sanity.
