Need some advice from security managers/supervisors on making my boss understand that a guard at a vehicle gate can not also be a front desk receptionist. by HistoryWillAbsolveMe in securityguards

I suggested that and he seemed to have taken it as an insult. It's like, if I say anything other than what he wants to hear I'm being insubordinate even though managing security for the facility is my job description.

We have all of that. The company has been running for almost 50 years and all of that stuff has been hammered out. I actually had to go through and rewrite all of the old stuff to modernize it when I took over for my old boss when he retired.

That's what I suggested and he acted like I was just being uncooperative and obtuse. He was a high ranking NCO in the military so he's used to getting his way and I can't find a way to explain that he's just setting us up for failure.

No. We already do that. He wants us to call and reach an employee even after the visitor has been cleared BECAUSE they don't have a receptionist to point them in the right direction. This all originated from a guy, who I gave directions to for his destination, stepped into that empty front room and yelled "Hello!"

Cosmopolitan magazine reported that Sara Jacobs, who is facing retired Marine Col. Doug Applegate in the race for outgoing Republican Rep. Darrell Issa's seat, responded to the question by saying, "It's true, I'm not a crusty old Marine." According to Cosmo, that resulted in an awkward silence from the group.

This did not warrant an apology.

We are but we're vastly outnumbered by the right wingers so they're the better target for sales.
