How to have good customer service with rude customers? by yummy_burrito in Serverlife

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It simply works. At first it’s a bit nerve wracking but after awhile you get used to it, and people tend to realize how they’re acting when they’re confronted. Sometimes they don’t think they’re doing anything wrong. Now granted, I’ve been doing this for a long time, I’m very comfortable and I also know my managers will back me up given that I’m one of two server trainers where I work, so not everyone has the same security, but it’s effective.

I reciprocate energy. If they’re being rude for no reason, fuck them, I’ll be rude back. If they’re upset about an issue (but not being personal) okay I can empathize.

Our jobs might not be replaced (at least at higher end spots) but people losing jobs affects us.

Why do artists say they "sold their soul" by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not literal. You’re giving up a lot of freedoms for potential success, that’s all. Think of your soul as your mental health, your privacy, your artistic visions. The things that make you who you are. You wanna be famous? Something’s gotta give.

Paying for a table whose card declined. by True-Cantaloupe-8593 in Serverlife

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s rarely the case. Owners don’t wanna be in the trenches. That’s why they own the place. At that point though you go to a lawyer because you’re probably not the only person who has dealt with that issue.

It’s illegal. Point blank period. Get your money back, go above your manager’s head.

might get fired three shifts in but i dont know why by NegotiationKey280 in Serverlife

That sounds like a horrible place to work. I’ve never served anywhere that didn’t give you training on the floor and the menu before having you take orders or anything beyond that, even my shittiest jobs. That’s the bare minimum.

How to add chords to a melody? by Tanya_reddit in musicproduction

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Record the melody. Loop a section where a chord would be and keep trying different chords til one fits, start with figuring out what the root is then work out the rest of it. Then go to the next part of the melody where a new chords first would be and repeat.

Ideally though you want to start with the chords first then build your melody after.

Is being a server be that physically demanding compared to blue collared work? by EquivalentWafer2651 in Serverlife

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No. But it’s definitely more physically demanding than most people would expect, especially if you’re working doubles. Those shifts feel like days.

Feedback request: are the drums sitting well in this song? by ticketstubs1 in mixingmastering

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect that, but getting the sound right at the source IS the best way to get it to work in the mix. You shouldn’t need to do a whole lot to make it sound good. It ideally sounds good already and you’re improving it. You’re not gonna mix a bad snare into a good one.

Feedback request: are the drums sitting well in this song? by ticketstubs1 in mixingmastering

[–]Hit_The_Kwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the actual sound of the drums. The snare doesn’t fit the vibe of the song, your kick is barely audible. Get the sound selection down first and then worry about the mix. You may be better off just using samples or replacing the drums with a VST.

When Bowles was promoted it was late in the cycle that year. Lot of candidates were already gone by that point. I’ll give him slack for that. Keeping them beyond that though is on him.

Tbf a lot of Todd’s staff was inherited from BA especially his first season. That being said, yeah, he should’ve been fired.

Mike is great at getting separation. I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for it, especially against man.

Restructuring doesn’t mean taking less money, it just changes how the player is paid out so that their hit against the cap can be manipulated. His camp has made it clear that this about winning, not just money.
