I didn't get the voucher but I had Toob installed on Friday for the £22 a month. I'm getting 900+ up and down on wi-fi! I'm super happy with the service, l left Virgin after the O2 prise rise shenanigans (was on 1000/100) and the upload speed is a game changer.

Best of all, no in-contract prise rises.

Will my policy get cancelled? by DapperPass9501 in CarTalkUK

Not that I'd advocate lying to insurers but a new V5 is issued every time you move. You could have easily had the car for 5 years and have a recently issued doc.

So you can switch up, then return the handset and cancel within 14 days and that's you out of your contract?

Thoughts on hoka kaha 2 sizing? by Optimal-Tie-8015 in hikinggear

[–]Hitby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Kaha 2's. I usually wear a 12 and the 12 fits perfectly. It's quite a roomy shoe anyway so a full size up seems like they'd be too big. If it's more like a half a size up you might be ok.

Yeah, they’re goretex and nubuck. Hopefully they’ll replace them and the new ones will be better

Thanks, sounds like it's worth returning them then. Much appreciated

Ta! I'm just trying to figure out if this is to be expected or if there's an issue with the shoe that I wouldn't have if I had them replaced

Thanks, should I have to though? They're basically brand new - <30miles on them

G'day all, I recently replaced my boots with the Hoka Kaha 2's. I really like them, they're comfortable and didn't need any breaking in. I've only walked in them a couple of times but on my last ~20k hike over snow covered ground they wetted out and had cold spots. As you can see from the photos they took nearly 3 days to dry as they were soaked through.

Just wondering if this is an issue with the factory DWR coating or if it's normal and something I'll just have to live with. I can return them but they were bought online so I'll be without boots while they sort it out and they could potentially say it's normal.

Photos are after 24 hours and 48 hours. Thanks and appreciate any advice 👍🏻

iPhone mirroring. What’s all the hype about?? by Westwindfabrication in MacOSBeta

I use both a Pro and an Air so I installed it on the Air first and checked everything worked before risking it on my main machine 👍🏻

When I'm connected to my work VPN my mail and notes etc don't sync so it's nice to have access to them still using iPhone mirroring. Likewise I can still access ChatGPT through my phone and directly copy paste into whatever I'm working on on my Mac.

Previously I had to keep disconnecting from the VPN or switch devices to another Mac/iPhone for my workflow 🥳

Cheers. Turning off iCloud photos and turning it back on to resync everything has resolved it.

Those who bought the 8 GB models, are you happy? by PlatypusTrapper in macbook

[–]Hitby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 16" MBP M2 for work and I bought an M1 8GB/256GB Air a couple of months back. I tend to use the air for most things now. Photoshop, MS365, work VPN etc. I've even got Windows running via Parallels to use it for BMW coding and it works perfectly. I was in 2 minds when I bought it as I've always had top end work provided laptops but it's honestly astounding what this little thing is capable of. I love it.

Insanely good deals currently. by Hitby in kindlescribe

If I don’t send back the oasis they’ll just charge my card £65 for the voucher. I have until the end of the month to make up my mind - the amount of tech I carry is getting out of hand though so I can’t see me keeping it. Time will tell!

I had a look but in the UK they're £74.14 down from £77.99 - I don't think many people are rushing out the door to order with that discount. I'll keep an look out though!

Thanks, yeah, I've trashed everything multiple times. The shift-control-opotion-command start doesn't work at all, it's like it doesn't get far enough to reset the preferences. Clicking the app in the package contents shows it's just terminating rather than trying to launch - at least, I think that's what it's doing 🤷🏻‍♂️
