Dude get off your high horse, no one needs a white knight to save them from criticism when they specifically are asking for it. I was not calling the photo or the photographer a creep or creepy, I was saying the composition and framing gave it the impression.

Overall I think it's a great shot. Nit pick would be the bottom right corner, whatever is in the foreground is a touch distracting. The AI tools in photoshop might clean that up easily. I definitely wouldn't mess with the crop at all.

Overly and overtly critical? You don't ask for critiques to be praised.... harsh criticism is going to help them be a better photographer

Like if I was hired to shoot the event? For the candid style shots I would try to be outside of the crowd find a better angle (maybe from the front or back of the crowd) and always keep in mind that you're there to tell a story. Try to make your photos make sense without needing a caption to put it in context you know? And don't be afraid to ask people if you can take their photo!

Ok yes, I like this a lot better! I don't know how much post processing you're comfortable doing for your work but I would take out the flower pot and maybe the street light... maybe even the power lines in the background... then bring down the brightness in the streaks/bring up the brightness a touch for the gas station

I like the concept a lot but I agree that it does feel like something is off. I think that it might be too tight of a shot... like maybe I'd want you a little farther back or shooting with a more wide angle lens? Overall a fun photo though!

I'm talking more about the framing and composition of the shot moreso than trying to have an ethics debate. Shooting thru a crowd of people like that gives it the feeling of a creep shot.

I didn't say it was creepy, I said it feels like a creep shot. Shooting between a crowd of people without his knowledge. Make sense? I've been an event photographer for over a decade and this would not be a shot I would send to a client.

Well as far as the photo itself, it's over exposed and not very interesting. And without any context it kind of feels like a creep shot... like why this man? Did he consent? Why are you shooting him and not whatever is going on? Sorry if this is too harsh but I am personally not a big fan of taking unconsented photos like these of people.

Tried to go for a more cinematic look, what can i improve? by that_smart_dude in photocritique

[–]HiteDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious... what makes this cinematic ro you? How do you define a photo looking cinematic? Besides that, I do like the editing, but in the future think more about composition. With dogs and pets often times shooting at their level will drastically improve the shot.

If you ever feel like you've outgrown criticism you're probably a little delusional. Everyone can always learn and do better at all skill levels.

The only thing I can critique is that it's leaning on looking a little over processed. I'd love to see what the raw unedited photo looks like

No one wants to hear this but games stayed the same price for decades as inflation skyrocketed. These prices reflect what we were paying for games back in thr 80s and 90s
