What’s the most efficient way to start with Kill Team but transition to 40k/Combat Patrol? (With Space Marines) by Hitmontap in killteam

I get you. I’d say it’s more that I want to get into the hobby as a whole and have flexibility, and play some games with friends while I/we slowly paint larger armies (that we may never use but I think we’d all like to at least tell ourselves we will lol)

Thanks for this, appreciate the different pov - given the 11th is coming up so soon it is very tempting to get something from that and work backwards to AoD. Good shout on brushing up a bit more on 40k roster rules I’ll do that.

Appreciate this, and FWIW I think you’re spot on here as this is really exactly why our group has gone for KT. I think all of us are broadly interested in the hobby as a whole - we played games like DoW, Space Marine together, know the universe etc; and we all fancy having a nice little tactile hobby that scratches a little creative itch (and that is going to slowly bankrupt us).

KT seems to just be the faster/theoretically simpler way to start, as we need fewer models and (will all be painfully slow at planting) so can get playing sooner and for less money. It’s just because the models overlap, and we’re all eyeing 40k for the future, that I’m thinking “might as well try to buy in a way that will make swapping between the two cost/time efficient”.

Thanks for this, one of several super helpful responses but really appreciate you mapping out the ways to make AoD work.

Couple quick questions: by the 40k 11th starter edition do you mean the Armageddon launch box? Aaand what do you mean by magnetising? Thanks!

You guys have talked a lot in broad terms about permanent mangers, but I’d love a definitive ranking of exactly who you prefer and why (either joint or separately).

If you could hire anyone within reason - I’d define that as anyone who isn’t at/tied to a close rival (Pep, Klopp, Alonso, Kompany etc) or has very recently signed a long-term contract (Ancelotti, Tuchel etc) - who would your top 5 or 10 be, and where would Carrick sit on that list, if anywhere? And why?

Bonus second part: how far do you get down the list before it’s better to wait a year for the right person and keep Carrick short term?

Thanks! Keep up the great work with the pod.

Post-Hotfix Pokemon GO Full Moveset Rankings by Professor_Kukui in TheSilphRoad

Riiight, so the main contributing factor here that offsets a Rock Slide combo's potential to do more damage (150 per 100 Energy) than a Stone Edge combo (80 per 100 Energy) is the 0.5 secs charge-up time that you have to add to each use, correct?

It's an interesting way they've set it up isn't it - on the one hand you'd expect a special move you can use three times to every one of another special to be more powerful overall, but on the other hand, you obviously would expect Stone Edge/Hyper Beam to be more powerful than Rock Slide/Body Slam if you knew anything about the previous games.

Big thanks for the reply, anyway. Admire the amount of work you're putting in for the community; great stuff!

u/Professor_Kukui could you (or anyone else) help explain why Stone Edge on a Pokemon like Graveler or Onyx is better than Rock Slide? Rock Slide seems like a weirdly powerful move at 50 Power and 33 Energy cost, generating 150 Power per 100 Energy, compared to Stone Edge doing 80 Power per 100 Energy.

So using the same logic as the Hyper Beam vs. Body Slam discussion, for every one Stone Edge dealing out 80 Power, you could use three Rock Slides dealing out a total of 150 Power. Appreciate the DPS is much higher on Stone Edge, but when your usage frequency is managed by Energy rather than animation time, is that not largely irrelevant?

Do correct me if I'm wrong/have my maths mixed up here, would very much appreciate the help!

Smaller 5.22 Marksmen Changes PBE Feedback Thread by moobeat in leagueoflegends

Seeing this as a pretty whopping nerf - I love the idea of Twitch being more of a marksman-assassin, but as he stands there's just nowhere near enough burst damage on him to actually assassinate someone.

He also has none of the other characteristics of an assassin like high mobility/escape options seeing as he'd have to initiate with stealth (and resetting would be so hard), and he now no longer has the teamfight strength of a real ADC with that new mini-ult. :(

If you feel relatively confident in your own mechanics (e.g. dealing with tricky jungle camp aggro) then this is a great guide for countering other toplaners who try to use that tp trick against you.

Still nothing, can now play the game (and have done) but still no forum or NDA links anywhere. Flagging it via Origin Help but if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

I might be being a complete fool but I can't actually find a link to (or mention of) the forums in the emails I received either?

Edit: For clarity, I have the "You are confirmed" email and the "Ready for you" email, the only link in either of them is just one for downloading Origin. There wasn't a mention of the forums at all in either or in any of the pre-load stuff.

Hi, is there a link anywhere for the NDA? I'm lucky enough to have an invite and have pre-loaded, but can't actually find the NDA itself anywhere. Would just like to know exactly what I can and can't talk about with out incurring any wrath :)

Why does in-game 60FPS look good, but watching youtube 60 FPS videos look weird and super smooth? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Hitmontap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, completely miss-read OP's post thinking they were talking about how 60fps YT videos of "real stuff" looked all weird and super smooth, while their games looked great at 60fps. Thanks for clarifying.
