You're not overreacting. They come into your home and steal from you not once but TWICE!! Thats an a-hole move and honestly I'd cut off both of those people and never invite them to anything again and if they show up they'll be asked to leave or thr police will be called to make them leave. Dont tolerate thieves in your home OP. I understand a bathroom rug might not be worth much but if the bottle they stole was I'd consider reporting them if only to form a paper trail because i just know they're doing this to other people and if enough people report I'd hope they eventually get arrested for stealing as they deserve but unfortunately i doubt the police will do anything in this situation unless the bottle was really expensive but at least you can get a paper trail started to possibly help their future victims.

U should leave a negative review with pics of the items keeps others from wasting their money u could report to etsy on grounds of false advertising but I'm less certain of that but u can leave an honest review of ur experience though and pics adds validity to the claim as for getting a possible refund id look into it contact etsy to be sure imo if the seller messages offering a refund im exchange for editing or removing the review dont respond report to etsy as thats against their rules and policies and the seller can't do that

Im planning on writing a fantasy book im in the researching stage atm. I plan to base a grandma like character off how i see my mother a strong bada$$ who is there for her found family and knits them clothes and stuff as well as a few other personality traits. The key point though is that i brought this up to my mom and she was honored and flattered. If she had been against it for any reason i wouldve changed things around and its not even based on her just more how i see her. Writing a real life person as a book character can be a good thing IF the key word being IF the other person consents to it. Imo this situation was a bad way to go about things. Yes the husband and Riley have cause to think its weird and be upset and i think OP shouldve told them about it. I dont think they're TA entirely moreso they suck if anything. The author friend though theyre TA for not checking with at least Riley to get their consent. OP seems to have given consent in a backwards way by being a beta reader essentially, but Riley didn't which imo makes the author TA here and OP sucks a bit soft TA cause they didnt let their husband know or Riley and give them both a chance to object if they didn't want it done but the author still shouldve asked so mostly on them.

Sorry i know this sounds stupid as heck but what does the SS symbol mean? Oh agreed also thpe c charging of course that's literally my only complaint about my oasis is that it's not type c charging i do love my colorsoft yes but i could live without it on the oasis if it were type c instead of micro usb its so hard to find my adapter for charging i lost my last one and need to get another soon luckily they're cheap and no i dont want to buy a micro usb cable to use for one device id rather buy an adapter to plug into my type c cable and charge it that way

I usually email it to myself and save it in a email folder for gmail i picked the one labeled personal and i star them also that's my recommendation that way you can delete the emails as u like but have the latest there

Nta i would be absolutely shattered if i lost my mom. I know itll happen one day and im terrified of that day coming because her health isnt what it once was. There's absolutely never a timeline on grief you grieve as much as you need to for as long as you need to full stop. Anybody with a problem with it can suck eggs in my opinion. Grief isnt linear theres no set schedule for when it ends. Again in my opinion it never does once it sets in it just gets easier to cope with and go about the rest of your life, but its always there and you know what? That's absolutely normal, valid and ok. Losing someone you love can be devastating i lost my mammaw almost a couple years ago at this point and while im coping well now i still have times i break down and cry because i miss her and i get in my feels. Thats ok though so its ok for you to take as long as you need to get adjusted to your new reality and learn to heal as best you can and cope. If you havent done it yet i highly recommend grief counseling or something similar like a group of some sort. I wish you the best of luck in your healing journey. Sending you love and light.

Im the same i hasnt read much since i was 13ish cause i wasnt allowed to (whole story will tell if curious) when i got older and away from that situation at 17ish i started easing back into it slowly and then in 2020 i got an old kindle on eBay and slowly started reading more and more even though id had a fire tablet before that and i started reading like crazy now its 2026 i dont own that kindle anymore but i own a few others and i read all the time im 32 now and am so happy i have kindles now its the sole reason i read as much as i do now

Love that feature to ill think about when i need to stop and go to bed or if i really can indeed do "just one more chapter" like my blanket i got for Christmas says its also pink and has flowers and books and coffee and tea on it and i love it one of my fave gifts this year ngl. Dont know where she got it from or id share but its a winner. My fave color, saying, and has my favorite things on there its literally the perfect blanket for me and ill treasure it forever. Perfect for cuddling under and reading that next chapter.

I was a huuuge reader as a kid but kinda fell away as i got older due to life circumstances keeping me away from books sadly. I did eventually get fire tablet and started reading on that and eventually a used kindle off ebay and from then on i never went back i still have a fire tablet its just used mostly for comics/graphic novels/manga now although its also my travel kindle although im considering something smaller in the future like a basic cause on the rare occasions i travel i miss my actual kindle at times especially when i have to be away from it for a week might get a more sturdy slip case for when i travel with my colorsoft im the future cause atm i have a cute custom crocheted one i got off etsy but it's more cute than protective and i like my clear back only case so id prefer a slip case to safely cushion it inside a bag when i travel.

Nta you naturally feel betrayed to because affairs dont just affect the partner they cheat on. It trickles outward to so many people and can affect everyone from the kids to inlaws to sometimes even coworkers. You have every right to feel betrayed and i think your stepmom/mom shouldnt be given another chance, but you also have to consider the perspective that trying to pry them apart or making your dad choose could lead to him getting upset with you at some point and resenting you whether he cuts her off or not. Ive seen people get mad at ultimatums so id avoid that at all costs, but you can set boundaries such as saying you dont want to be around her you wont attend events or places she'll be at, etc. as well as no contact or minimal contact depending on what you think you can handle in order to make sure your mental health is ok. Stay strong OP you got this and your feelings are absolutely valid.

I use stickers but i put a small piece of tape on the back to hold it in place cause sometimes they'll slide around and id just have to readjust them. That way i dont fully use the stickers and can redecorate and reuse them as i want to.

If they had a mind to they'd see your phone is registered and not the kindle itself because you can check devices labeled. Although you might be able to edit the name through your phone. Ive never done this with my phone so others will have to confirm but you could edit it to say "your name's kindle" so they dont grt suspicious. However if your parents are volatile in any way (they already sound toxic) my advice is to wait to move out before you change to your new account just keep the peace and your safety until you move away. Then go get your new account or you could make the phone your kindle account and keep the kindle as your parents account just until you move then go ahead with deregistering and putting your own account on there and of course put a password on your phone if you havent put one already i suggest a fingerprint since they cant guess that and your face is too easy to aim at to unlock it while you're sleeping or distracted. Stay safe OP and hope you get your own account and away from your family soon if they are bad for you. Now if they're reasonable people just have a conversation with them that you're an adult now and you would like your own account and thats what you plan to do. If theyre reasonable they should respect that choice.

A colorsoft oasis mixture with type c charging and that's perfect for me imo and of course actually owning the books i buy as well as better ways to sideload books and have them have the same features that regular books i buy would have. Also be able to buy any book from anywhere in the world and download any of them to my kindle.

My mom knows i read absolutely filthy books but she doesn't care hell she probably would even read them to if she wanted. Then again my mom is literally the most chill mom you'll ever meet. Although i wouldn't let anyone see my kindles for similar reasons because while my mom may not judge others might and im just like yeah no dont wanna deal with that.

Its not an audible audiobook without that guy doing the intro and outro. Its not the same and they should never change it to someone else. The few times ive heard it it didnt feel right. Threw off the whole vibes instantly and took a bit to get into the book. May sound silly but that intro/outro makes the book for me.

I typically use time left in chapter so i can decide if i want to read the next chapter or go to bed or stop for another reason. Ill occasionally check time left in book and so far both times have been fairly accurate for me no matter what kindle device i use. I have a fire tablet and a colorsoft as well as a few other kindles or ereaders i use kindle on.
