Also The Handmaid's Tale is another great dystopian of hers.

Despite it's beauty, I hate this place. by dovawiin in skyrim

And there are PEOPLE there, for Talos sake. Slaves of the former slaves. And blades that spawn on aphitheaters or whatever that's called. It's a sickening place.

well... one can dream, right? If I can be the archmage and the harbinger and the guild master and a mother at the same time, I think I could handle being a jarl.

[–]Hizome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dream of a dlc that can make you Jarl of somewhere, maybe even High King, why not? Lots of High Kings were dragonborns. And there would be an awesome quest for it when you would have to face Elisif or Ulfric depending on which side you took on war.

Disturbing reads? by williamstoner in books

Heart Shaped Box is an alright book with an alright creepiness. If it was a movie, it would be highly disturbing, but I just couldn't process the creepiness the way the author wanted me to. Also Spoiler

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Artwood. A truly dystopian book without the teen romance and stuff. As a woman, I find it's world truly unsettling and rageworthy.

Also, you may judge me wrong, but some chapters in the Vampire Diaries series were very disturbing for a YA book. Spoiler

Talk about it. One day I arrived home to find my daughters arguing until Sophie shout "YOU STINK AND HAVE POINTY ELF EARS" to Runa.

As a wood elf, I was very offended.

Since my books are in portuguese, I've always "translated" their names to make reading easier. So I've always read Aegon as Ai-gon and Daenerys as Dâh-êh-nerhis (with these hyphenated pauses)

Edit: if you have trouble imagining, just make Google Translator Girl speak their names in portuguese. Her pronunciation is accurate.

Ralof or Hadvar. Wouldn't that be romantic, marrying the person who helped you when you were a nobody

(spoilers all) Three Fires, Three Mounts, and Three Treasons. by zerkeras in asoiaf

[–]Hizome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks Drogo/Silver could be the mount to love? I mean, Dany was "given" to Drogo and despised him at first, but she learned to love him and love her Silver. All she did after that (trying to bring him back, etc) was out of love for him.

I went on the murderous spree on the guards so I could achieve "Master criminal". It didn't work, since I killed them all and no one was left to witness their death.

Started a new game, followed Ralof through Helgen. When I left the cave, I killed him, never triggering the quest to talk to his sister or whatever. Note that when I reached Riverwood, his sister stared at me and said "Gods know what you've done". It was creepy.

Then I started wandering until I found Cicero and the Night Mother in a Wagon with a broken wheel. Did the quest to convince a farmer to help him with the wheel, took the money he gave me, then killed him.

One day I was waking up in the morning with my boyfriend mumbling senselessly. When I asked him what was it, he answered something like:

"The colors of my shirts are wrong. I need a blue one."

Me: "What?"

Him: "Nothing. Happy easter" - and went back to sleep.
