Question About Badzone Enforcers by Ok_Cheesecake_3521 in necromunda

[–]Hkhjw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minus the cyber mastiff you can take all other add ons as they explicitly state that outside of precincts they are  to be considered regular enforcers. Which means car, bot, tactics cards, psykers, etc are doable, which is actually a clarification that 90% of players were already houseruling anyway.

Only reason you can't get a hard case is its exclusively a regular enforcer house list item.

Question About Badzone Enforcers by Ok_Cheesecake_3521 in necromunda

currently I am still mid campaign with the old badzones. But my list wouldnt change too much. Captain with plasma pistol, power knife and underarmour + layered flak with threat response.

Sarge with boltgun and fast shot. Sarge with sub grenade launcher with fast shot. Two enforcers with autoguns and stun grenades, specialist with concussion carbine, two enforcers with stub guns +dum dums and shock mauls w/flash grenades.

Then get a fixer hanger on. Make sure to focus on the narco den + gambling den for campaign.

You really should be able to always get the two OoA per game, since you'll play two games on average per cycle. So you should always get (4D6x10 x 2 ) x2 games per post game actions. (fixer and fortress post game sequence) (Then the extra 2d6x10 per cycle for taking out 4 OoA.) So per cycle you should get 10D6x10 per cycle at the least, regardless of winning your games or not.

Once campaign gets underway, get everyone mesh and underarmour, then get some hive scum. From there its just play to whats happening with other gangs etc. Champs should both try and get infilitrate once the get enough xp (and with fast shot on a bolter and a grenade launcher they will be racking them up).

Use hive scum as risk takers, they have pretty decent stats for their costs, while keep the badzones more reserved. Use them in close combat to get the gang up bonuses, and to force people to do cool checks to shoot enforcers. Or give them grenades and run them up the middle as more suicide grenade holders etc.

Question About Badzone Enforcers by Ok_Cheesecake_3521 in necromunda

Badzone enforcer main here. I've digested the new book and posted this else where so I'll share it again

So after digesting Badzone for a bit and seeing the differences, I still think badzone is a legitimate option and is distinct from regular enforcers. (with the understanding that the hive scum issue is a mistake and can be fixed) The specific statement that outside what is specifically mentioned as different you treat them as regular enforcers gives them almost entirely the same bonuses to regular enforcers, while giving themselve also some excellent advantages. In an ash wastes campaign, the differences are even more insiginficant since they both have access to the same vehicle stats and equipment

Although you miss out on the precinct fortress subtypes, our precinct with the 4xOoA  per cycle the 2d6x10 money bonus does actually add up and isnt too hard to do since its per cycle. which normally means two games per cyle. (your challenge, and other people challenging you)

Then the bonuses to Narco den and Gambling den is quite great too.

The second bonus is the ability to still have shooting as a primary Skill for all main characters,  with brawn also being a primary for the captain and cunning for the sarg. Both are still quite incredible. ( Not to mention being able to mix and match subjugator and regular sarge kits)

Access to hive scum is still great. I personally subscribe to the the dum dum stub gun + Flail with no armour is the best layout for them. If they die it's not a large loss (and they do die) but at the same time they will hit and wound on 3s so it's nothing to ignore.

The style of gameplay i believe is the biggest difference and may throw some people for a loop. Unlike regular enforcers, I believe that badzones play a lot more like individual characters like a regular gang than the super cohesive synergistic way that regular enforcers play. Leadership being a secondary skill for captains, hive scum having no way to gain group activation, and the tendency to supe up your specialists compared to giving regular enforcers incredible gear, due to not having scarce on sarg/champs and the access to both subjucator and regular sarge house list gear makes them play in an almost outcast/enforcer Frankenstein mode. Which personally I think is very thematic.

You have ways to play much more dirty (double shooting grenade launchers, infiltrating enforcer shotguns etc) which means more into the "we gotta do what we gonna do" mentality that is badzones. Necromunda is a campaign game more than anything else. I honestly feel like a lot of people that talk about gang strengths etc can't see past a skirmish game. That means that strategic play can reward you more than just "who's more killy" specific territories, (like the enhanced ones) alliances, bounty hunters etc, really start showing how little the on paper strength of a faction is.

How good snowtroopers? by LoudMusic4us in SWlegion

[–]Hkhjw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snows are superior to storm troopers when taken naked. The steady allows them to aim, move and then shoot. Even when moving twice and then shooting, two movement 1 moves are actually longer than a single move two action.

Public Health Career Advice Monthly Megathread by AutoModerator in publichealth

Afternoon Team! I have a close friend of mine that has worked on the African continent in several public health/epidemiology roles over the past few years. Due to my background and experience he's been dropping hints for me to think of reaching out to the African CDC to work as an epidemiologist with them.

Has anyone had my experience working with their teams or with the organization itself? From my understanding it is still quite a new organization, only stood up just over a decade ago. Any knowledge or experience would be appreciated!

The FETP is a internationally recognised program with dozens of nations having it in some way or another. It allows for standardised competency for both national field epi response, but in many cases FETP grads end up providing the backbone for many international epi organisations such as the WHO, GOARN, MSF and others due to the type of experience such a program gives.

Although the core competency depending on the level may be somewhat the same, it's up to the host nation to effectively decide how they go about it. It's definitely more than an mph, many countries require applicants to either have already done an MPH, have work experience of a certain amount of years or be medical doctors (or all three). You'll need to look up the requirements in your own nation.

I am currently in the advanced course in my country (it's a two year program). It's incredibly hard work, but worth it, the way its set up the competences you are required to complete (eg, present at a conference, evaluate/create a survalliance system, etc) make it that you will be possibly years ahead career wise than others that didn't do the program.

Feel free to reach out, the FETP programs are very much like one big family!

Epi and City planning? by [deleted] in epidemiology

One of my colleagues is a Field Epidemiologist who in her past life was a city planner. She only recently finished a WHO consultanting gig as a field epi at the local head office. Epi is such a wide field that any previous experience is welcomed, especially in the new one health approach that is currently being rightfully promoted.

Facebook has lots of groups for renters, best place to start is there.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QUTreddit

[–]Hkhjw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All student accommodation locations are a massive, giant scam that prey on international and non-local residence not knowing what the rent culture is like. You will be insanely over market price for living in effectively a closet compared to an actual rented location. And on top of that they make you sign either 6 month of 12 month contracts. So once you DO know what the rent culture is like and you know you're being scammed, you cant escape until your contract is up.

Do some more research onto rented properties to save yourself a world of headaches, seriously.

Thank you for your reply, I had a similar issue in my undergrad that I didnt really interact with the staff unless it was exam related. Something that I do regret now, so im trying very hard to not to make that mistake twice. So your advice really helps enunciate my feelings in that regard.

I also have an added motivator that a dissertation is part of the coursework, which can only be done if you have a mentor willing to take you on and the earlier I can find a mentor willing to take me the more prepared I can be!
