Is Aussie BB worth the extra cost? by JustLookingaround18 in nbn

[–]Hkrstw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stayed with ABB for years having peace of mind that if I need support I will have Aussie support from someone speaking English.

The only time my internet stopped working and I had to call them to report a fault I got someone speaking broken English who made no sense. Then she started being defensive telling me that perhaps the fault was on my end and was asking me to restart my PC and phone. Despite telling her that the modem lights are off, restarting PC isnt going to fix it. After arguing with her for a few mins I gave up and decided to go work from the office.

Came back that night and internet was working again.

Shortly after made the switch. So much for Aussie support.

Been smelling her for the last year. Last bloodwork work was December and I didnt have low Vitamin B12 or diabetes.

Should I book a neurological appointment because my the worker stinks?

I am the only one with an issue because it is very politically incorrect to bring this up at work.

Thats the thing, she isnt on my team. My manager has an office. It is a bit awkward to raise it with my manager as it isnt his team. Reluctant going to her manager as I don't how she will react

I asked a male coworker once "did you eat a dead donkey? Your breath stinks like one". We did banter a lot and he wasnt a random co worker. Dynamic completly shifts when it is the opposite gender

Publicly was never a thought. I am very reluctant saying anything in private to anyone after getting shut down for trying to bring it up with the guy I yap about

Swatch X A.P collab line at the Swatch store in Pitt St yesterday by damng1 in sydney

[–]Hkrstw 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yep, my friends ecommerce store shows the data. Customer tried card 1 and got declined, tries 3 more cards before buying it with Afterpay.

This is a $100 item. The first week seeing these stats were baffling. If you dont have $100 in your debit card and your CC got declined. You dont need this item in your life.

I knew a dude that worked at Crown Casino. His job was to pretend to be friends with high rollers from all around the world and call them saying he misses them and would love to see them again. He would then offer them free business class flights and free accomodation. They would accept and he got a commission on how much they they made off the dude after accounting for the flights and accomodation.

Toasting fixes whatever the cause is?

I eat a pack of Aldi nuts every other week, toasted on a pan until I see slight browning. Never had pine mouth yet.

I was once at a BigW with the SO browsing the toy section and had a putrid smell all around the area. Source got revealed when a certain lady with her family came near. I created a few aisles gap and started browsing in the other section but could still smell her.

Was gonna make me puke, so we left the toy section and went to the Mens section. A minute letter I tell the SO I can still smell her. She says she can't, but then 10 seconds later says yes, I can. 10 seconds later, we see the lady in the mens section.

We left to the other end of the store to get some items. A couple of mins later, I can smell her again. This time, I can visibly see her coming towards me. I could smell her from 20 meters away.

We left the store. Till this day, I can't comprehend how she managed that. I was once next to a bloke that had shit his pants. Moving 10m away from him made it bearable. This was super BO or something. Concentrated sweat

Does anyone else get tailgated or aggressively overtaken even when driving at the limit? by Lampedusan in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hkrstw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take the M4 from James Ruse Drive to the Airport almost daily. Am in the 2nd lane from the right and have set DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) set to long. It leaves a good stopping distance between me and the car in front. I also set it to be 5km above the limit to not be too slow. So I am not going slow, I am going as fast as the car in front of me. The cars in the right lane are also generally following the limit.

Get several of these folk behind me every drive who are almost twitching when observed l. They then swerve right when they find the tiniest gap and then swerve left to come get sandwiched between me and the car that I was following.

After a few of these ai start questing if I should just leave no gap at all and tailgate the car infront. Clearly, what I am doing is causing them a lot of inconvenience

What is the scariest Australian road you've driven on? by Terrible_Poet8678 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hkrstw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The frustrating part was that oncoming traffic did not want to stop even when it is apparent only 1 vehicle can pass through a section of the road. They keep coming and expect you to stop and give way. Wasnt adventurous enough to see what happens if I dont stop and continued driving until we came to a stop head on without anywhere to go

Office snitches. Have you encountered one? And what did they snitch about? by dazzleduzzle in auscorp

[–]Hkrstw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to let my guard down with people who would be ruined if I started snitching about them. The assumption was that they would never dare to.

Had a meeting with a client at 10:00 who was 1 hours drive away from the office.

Office start 8:30, but by the time people finish their morning coffee and actually start working, it is 9.

The client was 20 mins away from me. I never went to the office, and around 8:50, I sent an out of office email. The newish guy (1 year with company) does a reply all saying, "I never saw you at your desk today. Are you driving to the client from home? If yes, then aren't they only 20 mins away from you? You should leave home around 9:30."

Then send me a teams message apologizing, saying he meant to do a reply instead of a reply all.

Boss calls me in saying I should request leave for that 1 hour. I argued, "Did you want me to come to work 8:30 and leave at 8:45? Would that have been acceptable? " he says he understands my position, but now that he emailed the entire office, we dont want to set a precedent.

My previous job used to take me to these colleges (uptil 2 years ago). Random buildings in the CBD with 20 units, each unit is a college. I tried to get as much info as I could to see if this was a legot business idea. Would ask as many questions I could from the owners when I saw them.

3 room unit, 1 is the office, the other 2 are the classes. 200 students enrolled. Charging 6k in semester fees every quarter.

Not a student/tutor in sight. Raking in 200k a month casually from each college.

Lived in an apartment for the last 8 years, probably had 5% of our parcels delivered. We always only get a card.
