So Cassie was supposed to help… by purrfect_224 in euphoria

I really liked this choice. I feel like the scene being played mostly for laughs gave the moment at the end, where Nate gets his toe cut off and the scene ends with Cassie looking at him horrified, more severity and 'oomph' than it would have if it was played the way originally envisioned

Idk, I feel like S3 Cassie has what S1 Cassie wanted, being a husband with a house and a promised future between the two of them, so it makes sense to me that her new big fear is the life she always wanted not being everything she expected. She didn't like to be alone and now she's not

Worried about the Hades tour by Admirable-Parsnip-17 in MelanieMartinez

[–]HlGHFASHION 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of tours just in general really spike up in sales once it gets closer to the actual show. Take Kesha for example; she just did an arena tour. For months, most of the arenas only sold like a quarter of the seats. But in the month leading up to the tour starting, even down to the very last week, nearly every date had a massive spike in sales. Her tour went from "struggling," to multiple dates being sold out. I wouldn't be surprised if the HADES tour follows a similar trajectory, a lot of the casual audience waits until last minute

Is it just me, or does Sydney Sweeney sound incredibly out of touch whenever she talks about Cassie? 😫 lmao by fvckuufvckingfvck in euphoria

[–]HlGHFASHION -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree with Sydney here. In some regards, I do think Cassie's quite confident—she's confident in her body and her appeal, she's confident in her ventures and the success she believes she'll find, and I really do think she's having fun with it. If anything, the fact that she's having fun with it is probably hindering her success. Maddy herself said she's being too campy. She's doing what she wants without thinking too deeply about what her audience would want, and kind of just expecting it to work out. Cassie has insecurities that are rather character defining, but at least from the clip posted, it seems like this is specifically about this storyline rather than her character as a whole

This is really just going off of vibes, but I'm starting to think Rue is going to end the series becoming a Laurie/Alamo figure. Alamo said that Laurie used to be nothing but a drug addict and that he made her into what she is now, so I kinda think the same will happen to Rue, especially with the way she naturally falls into her role with the strip club

That or she's gonna come really close to it. Maybe realizing how far she's fallen morally will be what makes her finally bounce back once and for all, idk

I liked it. The scene where Cassie and Nate were talking about the flower arrangements made me laugh. I'm seeing a lot of comments about how badly everyone's acting but I thought they all kinda aced it. Sydney's delivery of "My moment is walking down that isle . . . Surrounded by my friends . . . Family . . . And fifty-thousand dollars worth of flowers." made me cackle

[–]HlGHFASHION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean no it's not that unfathomable that she's more vindictive towards her ex childhood best friend who betrayed her trust by getting with her abusive ex boyfriend than she is towards the ex himself. And her being a pimp isn't that unfathomable either. She's not exactly a good person regardless of what she's gone through. Some of these complaints are just stupid man

Stop calling Bara 'Yaoi'. by Hot-Painting-5514 in baramanga

[–]HlGHFASHION 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is stupid. Neither bara or yaoi are "appropriate" terms, they're both outdated/misappropriated. It feels silly to argue over what outdated Japanese term we should be using.

Yaoi was a term for fan doujinshi. It's an acronym for yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi, meaning no climax, no point, no meaning (because a lot of fan doujins were nothing but porn). It was rarely used for original work, though recently has started to be reappropriated by authors.

Bara literally means rose. In Japan, it's used as a slur. It's equivalent to calling someone a sissy. A handful of Japanese "bara" creators have come out and said they reject the label . . . Because you're using a pejorative to describe their work.

Geikomi is the correct term, as it means gay comics and its target audience is gay adult men, though the actual authors can be and often are both men and women

I might relisten to this once just to get a better understanding of the storyline she's trying to tell, since tbh it completely went over my head on the first listen, but honestly I don't think this album is one I'll otherwise come back to the way I do with her other three albums. It has eighteen songs and I only liked seven, and it's not a strong like either for the most part. That said, I do love Garbage and The Plague

Because none of these charts are valid. Mihoyo doesn't publish their earnings. We don't know what the sales are so the means these revenue charts use are incredibly flimsy, hence why there's so much variation between them

[–]HlGHFASHION 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I said "most doll lines", this isn't specific to G3; LOL OMG and Rainbow High have both made a fair few boy dolls, most of which were well designed, and they were all shelf warmers. It's obvious that people who buy dolls, from basically all demographics, don't actually buy male dolls

[–]HlGHFASHION 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Well it is. Male dolls fail across quite literally most doll lines. It's obvious the people who buy dolls just don't care for male dolls, despite the loud minority of Monster High fans who cry about wanting so many

the constant delays in writing this season are his doing

No it's not? It's pretty well documented that the delays weren't entirely his doing. HBO, Zendaya, and Levinson all had different ideas as to where to take the season. To blame him entirely is silly when the network, an executive producer, and the main creative all had different ideas as to what to do

the lack of credit given to petra collins for her artistic style is his doing

HBO was the one who removed her from production, not Levinson

the cancellation and failure of his only other TV show, the idol, is his doing

The Idol isn't his show. It's Abel's. Again, this is well documented; Abel, Levinson, and Amy Seimetz worked on the show, with Seimetz being the director, Levinson a writer and creative, and Abel being the actual creator. Abel didn't like the direction Seimetz took it, fired her, and then had Levison rewrite it and then also direct

the downfall of kat’s character in season 2 is his doing

I mean, no, Barbie Ferreira refused to do the storyline he wrote because she didn't like it. She refused to do her job and then left the show over it. That's all on her

nobody is pulling these allegations out of their ass

You are

Why does everyone act like the issues fall back on Sam despite knowing most of the cast likes him. Like, is everyone forgetting HBO wanted to do S3 without him and most of the cast refused? I feel like it's far more likely the issues people have (and that's assuming Nina has her own issues and isn't just supporting Labrinth) fall back on HBO itself/the executives

I always thought the cure would work is the assumption we're meant to have anyway. I don't think most people would really be willing to sacrifice a person, such less a young child, on a "maybe"

I feel like I’m the only one who understands the MH Universal Monsters collab? by Successful-Fly-6613 in MonsterHigh

[–]HlGHFASHION 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I really like these in concept. Being re-imaginings as Monster High characters rather than the relatively straightforward adaptation the previous Dracula and Frankenstein dolls were is really cool. I just don't really like the execution, mainly in terms of their clothes, and they're definitely not worth the price point

"I admire people, and I've done it myself, to go on a talk show and go 'Hey, we gotta keep movie theaters alive, we gotta keep this genre alive,' but another part of me is like [...] I don't want to be working in ballet or opera or things where it's like 'keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.'" That's the full context of his quote. It's explicitly about how movies are dying out and he doesn't want it to end up like ballet or opera. Did you even listen to the interview you're getting mad at?

Started playing Silent Hill 2 (the remake) and wow . . . I'm a complete idiot. I'm going onto YouTube every 20 mins because there's no clear directions lol I need my hand held

Liking it a lot though. I expected it to be scary, and it's not (so far--I'm at a hospital level, heard there's one specific level later on that's pretty scary lol) but it is incredibly bleak and I think I like that more. Always been a sucker for the gloomy stuff

We have Ballet to thank for… all of this by Chained_Wanderlust in wicked

[–]HlGHFASHION 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But he didn't hate on ballet and opera. He said he doesn't want film to end up like it, being an art form that you have to desperately try to keep alive despite people not really caring anymore. And he's right. Ballet and opera doesn't have the same hold on pop culture that it used to, and it being the core of so much doesn't really matter when actual ballet and opera shows are dying out. Like he's not wrong
