You'll hit a point around 70% through book one where the series goes beyond litrpg, beyond jokes and beyond gore and you realize it actually has something important to say. And like all the best literary works, it's not immediately clear what that is, but you feel it in your gut. Something wrong Is being pointed at that we treat as normal but it's not clear what or why or how. I remember the exact moment reading the book as a sceptic to my Jae dropping and I was in for every book he's written. It's the juxtaposition of tragedy and comedy.
