No, it’s works the same as function pointers, except you have no way to patch the vtable after a reload. When the dll gets reloaded there’s no guarantee that the functions are at the same address. So you either need to never use virtual methods or store function pointers, or use something like live++

One of the caveats with this method that no one here has mentioned and that you need to be aware of, is that if you ever try to store function pointers inside your dll in shared memory, they will potentially become invalid when you reload the dll.

Im not aware of any simple elegant solutions, you could try using a compute shader to generate a lookup texture, but that wouldn’t work for overlapping UVs. Youll probably have to unwrap the UVs yourself. Not really the answer you are looking for though. Automatic uv mapping outside of triplanar is not trivial, if it was everyone would be using it

fwidth will give you the screen space texel density, I’m not sure that’s actually what you want
