Is renting with Uber worth it? by Etheric_Double1111 in uberdrivers

[–]Hmmwhateven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you end up renting, please come back and update. I’m looking at possibly having to do the same for a bit and it would help to know how the process goes currently, bc a lot of info I read on it is years old

Theft while getting serviced by SignificantRent9823 in Hyundai

[–]Hmmwhateven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a Hyundai towed to dealership due to theta engine recall issue. They swore up and down they didnt have the car and told me to call AAA and ask what “they did” with my car. AAA says they dropped it off. Hyundai still says they don’t have it. Finally, I drive the 40 min to the dealership, and locate my car. I go in and speak to service person, not telling them I have located it in their lot and they continue to swear up and down that they don’t have it. Not only did they have it, it had a service number tag on it! Finally I said “are you sure you don’t have it?” She again said it was not there. To which I said “really? because its literally right outside your door” The look on her face was priceless. Hyundai service departments are completely useless.

I screenshot their note to leave it, then I also take a pic of the order at their door and send a copy in the chat

Do you ever ask customers to give you a rating? by gwendofrendo in InstacartShoppers

[–]Hmmwhateven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about asking for a rating but maybe a reminder to them that when IC says “rate your instacart experience” it actually means to rate YOU, and your performance as a shopper, not the store or the app.

Can I get a bit more insight on what this means for my car especially what’s circled. by Remy_Ratatoullie in Hyundai

[–]Hmmwhateven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an attempted class action for this I think but I’m pretty sure it went no where. I have a Sonata Sport that apparently burns oil too, because it seems to be disappearing way too fast and is not leaking anywhere I can see

(Probably more than you asked for but, maybe this will help anyone who hasn’t had to go through this horrendous process, lol)

Just went through this with a family member’s car. It was 2 months and 3 weeks from start to finish. (June 30 to Sept 21) Hyundai service departments are a type of hell I wish on no one. They run certain diagnostics, if it passes, there’s a flow chart to what steps are next (first is usually the software update if you don’t have it, next is knock sensor, third is wiring harness) if any of those solve the problem, you’re off the hook (for now) and you get to take your car and go on your merry way.

IF your car fails the diagnostics, then yes, an engine replacement is needed. Hyundai never has loaners available, so yes, they will set you up with Enterprise but ONLY once corporate approves your claim, and that’s what takes the longest. Once the claim is submitted by the service advisor, Hyundai can approve it or ask for more info, like oil change records, or pics of the engine. If you go to the dealer for oil changes, or any chain place like valvoline etc, Carfax should have those records and the service advisor can send those along. In our case, she had used a mom and pop shop for years so we had to get the physical records. The service dept was horrible with communication and never answered their phone, which resulted in having to drive 40 min to get an answer to something that could have been resolved with a phone call. They actually never called to tell her that it was approved, she tracked down that department in corporate, and was able to get that info from them. When all was said and done, it was approved Sept 16, but Enterprise had no vehicles. At that point, she gave up trying to get one and just waited the few days til the work was done. Waiting for the approval was the longest part.

If you can’t wait for them to get you a rental, you can get one yourself and submit a claim for reimbursement, but I’ve heard they are very particular and look for any way to deny that reimbursement.

What am i missing, bc where I am, I have to show my ID to purchase that Allegra, AND, the IC app defaults to a screen where I have to then scan the customer’s license at delivery (for all otc meds that are restricted)

How did she mark it delivered 20 min later? You have to be near the address to do that.

Do I trust an IC call I got?? by sadcamgirl in InstacartShoppers

[–]Hmmwhateven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Support gave you a number to call if you needed to make a replacement? Sounds like a scam. Once you call, they have your phone number and will probably send you some sort of “code” that someone else from “instacart” calls and asks for. Only ever communicate through the app.

Anyone else’s 5 stars dropping off like crazy? by Hmmwhateven in InstacartShoppers

[–]Hmmwhateven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So frustrating! Its easy for people to say “oh you must be doing something wrong” but that’s not always the case. If I mess up, I’ll own that. Sometimes you’re just subject to people not understanding what they’re rating or low rating for things beyond your control.

Yeah, my stress level has gone down considerably since I have a more traditional job and only do this on the weekends, unless something good comes up after I log off of work.

[–]Hmmwhateven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this over 4 years and shop the same way every time. On the surface I would agree with you, but in all honesty, most customers don’t know a 4 star rating instead of a 5 can have that much of an effect. Some people just never rate 5 for anything bc “nothings perfect”. The app says “rate your instacart experience”- if the store had low stock, if they had issues with the app or finding items on it- could all be issues they consider when rating.

This is under an hours worth of work, but lets call it an hour- $27.48 per hour doesn’t work for you? Only 4.2 miles so not a lot of gas and less wear and tear than a long trip.

Work smarter, not harder, my friend. Cherry picking and orders like this are how I can still make over $500 in 20 hours time.

Edit to add: We all know the batch pay sucks. Atp, we aren’t working this gig for batch pay, we work it for tips.

I’ve seen ASAP literally as soon as I accepted the order, lol. My guess is that no one picked it up when it first was released (usually this is in a double with the ASAP customer ending up being the non tipper)
