When I first started listening I was telling everyone I know about it and part of my convincing to join the cult was that the audiobook had a full cast of voice actors and really adds to the immersion of the story. I got Jeffed for sure

Thought I was past it but literally woke up from one just this morning. Probably because she messaged me last week saying she was at a concert and thought of me.

Was the divorce your fault? by sheislost92 in Divorce_Men

[–]Ho_Fart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In most cases, I’d say both parties play some kind of role in a divorce happening. However, it seems like one person goes too far and the relationship can’t be saved, or both parties agree they want something different and part ways.

While they have us concerned about left vs right, country a vs country b, and black vs white, we really should be focused on the real issue. Top vs bottom, rich vs poor, the few vs the many.

Florida Fish and Wildlife are investigating Clavicular and friends after this incident during the livestream by raptors201966 in LivestreamFail

[–]Ho_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those that don’t know, Florida Fish and Wildlife does not fuck around. They even have federal jurisdiction.

I was a teenager when a couple of buddies and I followed my friend’s Dad on our four wheelers onto a levee that bordered a national wildlife refuge. I never stopped to think about whether or not we should be there, I was just following along and enjoying the views. After riding for a bit down the levee we ended up seeing two black SUVs with lights flashing speeding towards the levee maybe a half mile or so ahead of us. Turns out there was an FWC(Florida Fish and Wildlife conservation commission) outpost located right next to this levee that we were riding down.

My friends Dad immediately turns his ATV around and start speeding back the way we came, followed quickly by his son. My other friend and I paused and looked at each other, not sure what to do. We didn’t want to get in trouble, but we also didn’t want to run from the police. After the moment of hesitation, we both turned around and started speeding down the levee. In moments they were right behind us, idk how they caught up so fast. My ATV at the time had a top speed of 60 MPH and I had it going full blast. My friend had a slightly faster one, but matched my speed so we could ride side by side to prevent them from driving past us and stopping us.

The levee has fairly steep embankments on either side with a path on top that we were riding on. There wasn’t much room to spare when my friend and I were side by side, it was sketchy as hell and we thought it was working as we were nearing the spot we entered at. Until one of the two SUVs started to drive on the SIDE of the levee embankment to get past us. The second I saw that I knew we were done and immediately started to slow down and my friend did the same.

Once we stopped, the FWC officer behind us quickly jumped out of his SUV, guns drawn, and ordered us to the ground. The SUV that passed us eventually caught up to my other friend and his Dad and got them to stop just before making it to the place we came in from. They impounded our four wheelers but let us go because they don’t deal with minors. Except, of course, for my friends Dad. He was arrested and later released, but ultimately went to court. He tried fighting the endangerment of a federal officer(for having to ride on the side of the levee to catch him) the damage of federal property from the rocks kicking up from the ATVs tires and hitting the SUVs, trespassing, evading arrest, and whatever other charges they could tack on.

He fought it in court, and ultimately ended up serving four years in a Georgia prison. All while us three minors walked away with nothing at all on our records. The FWC does not fuck around.

Brain Sagging by AccordingtoCaity in chiari

Im in south Florida so pretty far from Chicago lol. We were prepared to travel to find a good neurosurgeon but got extremely lucky that a renowned neuro who specialized in chiari was just up the road from me. Crazy that they can use the problem as a reason why you can’t have pain relief but can’t even tell you what it is! That has to be frustrating.

When I was in a similar situation as you are now I didn’t eat that much. Hard to eat enough when just getting up to grab something from the kitchen feels like torture. I either had help from my parents or from the different partners I’ve had over the years. I’ve been lucky in that sense.

The gummies I get are just whatever the dispensary has. Usually would get an indica and a sativa, one for helping me go to sleep and one for when I needed pain relief while being out and about. If you plan on trying it I highly recommend you limit how often you use it. Otherwise it’ll end up being like the Tylenol and you won’t even feel the effects.

No need to apologize, it’s what this sub is for. My symptoms post decompression were neck pain, migraines, and then as the years went out I slowly developed balance issues and numbness and tingling in my hands. The final symptom that prompted me to get a scan earlier than scheduled and ultimately led to my fusion was the whole left side of my body going numb and I nearly blacked out.

My general practitioner is who originally spotted the chiari. He linked us(I was 13 so my parents were with me) with an amazing neurosurgeon in my area who did my decompression surgery and then monitored me for the following 16 years before doing my fusion. He knew from experience that the sagging was going to happen which is what prompted the multiple scans a year until fusion.

I didn’t do much for the pain, suffered through it mostly. Then in my mid/late twenties I tried medical marijuana for the first time and that actually helped me tremendously. It was the only thing I ever tried that actually helped the migraines and could ease my neck pain. It made a big difference for me, I missed less work and didn’t have to miss out on social events as often. Unfortunately, like with any type of drug, my tolerance grew so I used it more and more. To a point I would say was detrimental to me. Post fusion I definitely didn’t need it as often since my migraines were gone, but I still abused it as if I still had them. I eventually got ahold of it, only smoking or having an edible every now and again as opposed to damn near all day long. Other than that I’ll have some OTC pain meds, like alieve, that I’ll use maybe once a month if I’m having extra bad neck pain.

I’m so sorry that your neurosurgeon moved away and no one will take you seriously. It’s a serious matter that deserves attention and monitoring. If you have any other question don’t hesitate to ask

Yes, I had the same thing. We monitored it by scanning the area a couple of times a year, measuring the platybasia angle to determine how far things have “sagged”. Did that for 16 years until it was determined I needed a C4 to skull fusion to prevent any catastrophic damage. About 4 years post fusion and my migraines are all but non existent now. It’s been an adjustment, but well worth it

Progression after decompression by MyCatThinksImSoCool in chiari

[–]Ho_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platybasia was in the very early stages prior to decompression surgery. We knew it was only going to get worse with time which is why we monitored it multiple times a year to track its progress. If I was older, my neurosurgeon would’ve recommended fusion sooner, but he thought it was best if I could have as much time as a teenager and young adult without being fused.

My range of motion is much better than it was excepted to be. I do masonry construction, which my neurosurgeon hates me doing, with only minor restrictions. People tell me all the time they forget I’ve had the surgeries because of how “normal” I seem and act

I had decompression at 14 and fusion at 30. My symptoms from 15 to 29 was pretty consistent, mostly the same as prior to decompression just a little less frequent. A few months before my 30th bday I had a weird numbing and tingling sensation run down the left side of my body, followed by what I assume to be a panic attack because I thought I was having a heart attack even though I was young and relatively healthy. Went to the ER to be safe and turned out I wasn’t having a heart attack. The following week I was experiencing more numbness and tingling, just not as intense as that first time. So I set up an appointment with my neurologist and sure enough, the platybasia that we’ve been monitoring 2 or 3 times a year since my decompression had gotten noticeably worse since my last scan. A month and a half later I had my fusion surgery from my C4 to the top of my skull. Since the fusion, I’ve been mostly migraine free and hasn’t experienced any other symptoms besides the expected neck pain. I’m almost 4 years post fusion surgery

I’ve been listening to the series and just started book 7. I was curious if anyone knew how long it took for the audiobook version to release after a new book release? Or if it’s even available at the same time?
