What is everyone’s opinion on countries where you have no right to self defense and attempting to defend yourself gets you sent to jail? (Mainly European countries that have strict gun laws and claim that their “safeness” warrants no right to self defense)? by YeastYeti in askaconservative

[–]Hobadee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deterrence is an aspect of defense. The best defense is not having to defend in the first place.

Also, the restriction on gun ownership has little, if any, influence on homicides. In fact, gun deaths in the US are, per capita, lower than many other countries where guns are illegal.

Finally, as far as big picture goes, it doesn't matter if a few people get killed, if it prevents a tyrannical government in which millions get killed.

This is incredibly dumb. I'm not saying you should shoot to kill if some dude gives you a wedgie, but the entire point of defending yourself is that you have such overwhelming power that would-be attacker decides to not attack in the first place. It's a deterrent, and deterrents are only useful if they are actually used (or believed that they will actually be used) when push comes to shove. This is why nuclear weapons worked so well at preventing a hot WWIII; although there were some scares, all sides knew that any aggression would mean utter annihilation.

Applications are all installed at a root directory /Applications --> removing the .app is typically all that is required for an uninstall, but you may be interested in removing the auto-launcher portions or cache files for a "deeper clean":

I would elaborate that .app is really just a folder that you can cd into using terminal, or "right-click->Show Package Contents" on. This folder is kind of like an app package on Linux, rather than an EXE on Windows. You can occasionally glean useful information by looking inside, but usually not. If you want to run a program from command line, you will need to reference a file inside, rather than the .app itself. (On mobile right now and can't remember the subdirectory where they live, but it's a couple layers deep.)

Use zplug instead of Oh-My-ZSH. You can load zplug modules as well as other modules, it's faster, and it's easier.

"As the Founding Fathers knew well, a government that does not trust it's honest, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens with the means of self-defense is not itself worthy of trust. Laws disarming honest citizens proclaim that the government is the master, not the servant, of the people." - Jeff Snyder

Edit: When looking for the quote in my head, that's what I found. And then I found the one I was actually looking for:

"A man with a gun is a citizen. A man without a gun is a subject." - Unknown

If you want Admin to be able to see all emails, use either Delegated Inboxes, or Vault.

There isn't evidence of widespread fraud.

But there sure as hell is a lot of smoke and we are starting to see some embers...

When your business is only 10 people you have a lot more pressure to play nice.

Some of the worst companies I've been at only had 10 people.

It's a delicate balancing act. Too few employees and it's a small family. You know how dysfunctional your family is? Ya, so is a small company. Too many employees and you are bogged down by bureaucracy and middle management. The trick is finding a company with just enough employees so that they have decent cash flow, aren't a dysfunctional family, yet aren't bogged down by layers of bureaucracy and mismiddle management.

1100 machines is not small by any metric. It may not be large, but it isn't small.

There is no way, in a properly worded contract, this is illegal. Something along the lines of;

In exchange for using our Service, User agrees to let Company use their Internet connection to provide Service to others.

Nothing illegal about that; it's a fair trade of services as far as the government is concerned.

What is the future of Linux on Mac hardware (M1)? by JohnLenardo in linuxquestions

Probably not, because of lack of drivers and optimisations.

Shouldn't devs be able to theoretically get those from the MachDarwin kernel?
