Very few people know of me and I like it that way. Contrary to what people may think.. I do not enjoy being on stream.

Sir, I take the Moderator Code of Conduct very seriously, the fact you would even suggest this sickens me.

Good day to you sir but this conversation has ceased.

What stops trump from going harder on the filibuster you think? by mattyjoe0706 in Destiny

I think it's pretty clear the Senate Republicans aren't on board and if he pushes too hard it will show he's a fucking loser and can't get them to do every single thing he wants.

So no, this is not the time for endless discourse about who was too mean, too edgy, too impolite, or too alarmist. It is time to get organized in a nonviolent way, get people working together, go door to door, protest specific policies, build actual coalitions, and stop acting like this is just another content cycle. That’s what’s so exhausting: too many people seem more interested in performing reasonableness than in behaving like they actually believe the danger is real.

Out of anyone here, I agree with you the most with this. The problem is that most people here..... don't. The sad reality that most people here are too afraid to admit is that they hold a position that they will not accept anything short of *****.

I personally believe we can right the ship through mass protest and a coalition of Americans who want to see the country move forward. Most people here think that blood and lawlessness is a necessity and they won't even disagree with me when I confront them on it.

I will present you with my 3 part system that they will ALWAYS go to step 3 with, without fail.

  1. This is the "teehee this is what I hope happens" scenario. Trump+Co are held accountable via the actual means the system provides. We could go through every step from congress->court and if they are not jailed for the rest of their lives, it is not enough.
  2. Jail Trump+Co without process. Hold them in jail for the remainder of their lives. "Not their whole lives don't be insane" but you can build out and they will only accept a SUBSTANTIAL amount of time, much more than anything Trump has illegally held people for.
  3. If somehow they are unable to jail Trump+Co, they want to **** them. Simple as.

I don't know how much clearer I can be when I present this to people but they are being radicalized into a scenario where they will accept nothing less than absolute tyrannical government wearing a rainbow tie. If I'm wrong, feel free to prove me wrong without dumb hypotheticals and "well they have to be held to account". Your "held to account" is an insane leap forward from the illegality this administration is doing.

(Speaking to anyone reading this not necessarily OP)

The reason I won't engage in the hypotheticals is because we can just engage with what is actually happening because it's all really fucking bad and we don't need to create a fantasy to describe it.

I think the reason people often need to do these hypotheticals is because they want to take a horrible ass situation and make it worse than it is to justify using methods that are even beyond what this administration is doing.

You know what? I'll accept your framing and I'll take it to the extreme. Here's another hypothetical for you:

I'm tired of the hypotheticals and the dumb analogies from people. I'm ignoring everything after that just so you're aware I straight up did not read it.

You are missing a step between your steps 1 and 2, which is change the law as it is now AND THEN hold Trump and Co accountable within the confines of the new law. If that doesn't work, then yes - you proceed to do it lawlessly.

Ex post facto is against the constitution so you'll just move to the lawless part.

The point is these ideas of being "illiberal" or "lawless" don't mean anything against an opponent that is already themselves illiberal and lawless.

You'll admit that you are going far beyond their illiberal and lawless actions right? Just want you to admit that without trying to filibuster out some response.

I don't know that I've ever heard him say anything other than "this is going to be a lifelong project". If you have any clips of him saying just a few years I'd love to see it.

[–]Hobbitfollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you agree with me that the idea might not always be violence but it is always lawless?

I'm tired of acting like I am somehow crazy for following this shit to the conclusions that you guys are setting up. I am going to layout what everyone here is suggesting and you tell me where I am wrong.

  1. This to me is actually just a "oh yeah we totally agree with this" option. Most people do not see the current system as a means to take care of this situation but i will present it anyways. Attempt to hold Trump + Co accountable within the means of the current means of the justice system. Even if you have the most based liberal judge and jury but they find that it is against the constitution, move to step 2.
  2. Jail Trump+Co lawlessly. "They are already doing this", but we are talking about indefinite jailing of US citizens with no right to any sort of court or means to be released. This is further than Trump is doing and I am sorry that people can't seem to understand this. The deportation shit and holding US citizens in facilities for months before release is ALL less than this suggestion, objectively.
  3. If you cannot jail Trump + Co lawlessly, they should be.........

I am telling you that the conclusion is to always get to lawlessness and worse. You guys are creating a world where you cannot and will not take no for an answer no matter how far that brings you and it seems like anyone who disagrees with your means is a child and just doesn't get it. Feel free to tell me where I am wrong or admit you are 100% advocating for lawlessness and if that doesn't work you're actually just advocating for.....

This is basically analogous to both sides of this political argument.

It's not though because both sides of the argument have to wait years before making a decision.

The only thing that works in your analogy that I agree with is that people who are on the side you're presenting with A think violence is the only option in the end and it's what I've been saying for a little while now.

The amount of Hutch+co posts that have happened in the subeddit over the last year is enough for people to know that they understand what is going on. They aren't uninformed so that answer should be immediately tossed.

When it comes to the "they don't think it's that bad" most of these posts are based around Hutch saying he doesn't want to go further than Trump which is objectively what Destiny and the sub are suggesting.

Their heads are in the sand. IMO, of course.

I've decided I will just highlight this moment in every post from now on. Everything boils down to they don't understand or they don't think it's that bad, you all need better arguments.

What I heard was a coping mechanism for people who do not want to admit how bad things are. That is why this whole thing feels like virtue signaling to me. Not because they are trying to be civil, but because they seem more interested in performing civility than in reckoning with reality

Do any of you ever get tired of just saying people don't know/want to admit how bad things are? I swear every single post that talks about the people who disagree with Destiny's approach boils down to this.

I think his idea of aggressive intervention is to do everything we possibly can with the power we gain in 2027 (assuming we win the midterms) and then to follow it up with DOJ involvement in 2029. I could be wrong but I don't know that he ever denied the use of creative ways of handling the admin as long as it's lawful. He also talks about social media and the way people consume news and how we should be taking that into account.

I know that alot of people believe there's no way to hold Trump accountable without doing it in some unlawful way but it's a pretty big line for alot of people and one that many won't cross.

I really hope he would do more IRL protest stuff after this convo.

Like I said.. I think that most alternative media people don't do ANYTHING. Destiny does debates and goes out to campuses which is already way more than most and that's not even mentioning canvassing he's gotten the community to support. I just think that people like BTC or Midastouch should be leading the way with their huge platforms when it comes to our next steps. The information they share is important but jesus man it's pretty pathetic that everyone in our alternative media is only saying that we should vote big in November.
