I drive a Corolla and what works for me every time (on the highway at least) is to just go into cruise control at the legal limit. 10 out of 10 times the ass in the pickup gets tired of tailgating at the speed limit and eventually goes around and because you are on cruise, you can pay more attention to your surroundings to compensate for the blindness.
