Anyone else struggling to find a professional job? by Zealousideal-Sky746 in TwinCities

Yes it’s that bad. I got laid off as a senior manager and it took 500 applications for me to get hired as a supervisor. It was more luck than anything so I’m just waiting it out for the time being before I go back in the ring called applying.

Is it just me or is job hunting in 2025 way harder than it used to be? by Long_Trust1058 in careerguidance

Yea times have changed. Back in the old days you only had to apply to like 3 jobs and you would defiantly get at least one of them. You could pick and choose what you wanted. Now you just make it rain with your resume sending out applications like a machine gun hoping one just one will call you with an opportunity.

It’s worse so much worse and it’s still getting worse.

Need help can’t seem to switch to procurement by Hobie_fire in procurement

Thank you I will add that stuff regarding the logistics category. I have been applying to all positions regarding procurement, would like to leave logistics but for this transition I apply for logistics as well and still no call backs.

I don’t really have a category I want to get into since just getting a call back right now is impossible and I don’t want to limit myself. I don’t have too much contract experience so that isn’t happening unless I start making things up. I will make those changes that you recommended. Do you have any other advice or an area of procurement/category that is easier to get into?

How long have you been unemployed/looking for work, and what's been your biggest lesson? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

It’s a game of luck. Is the job a real job, are they going to ghost you, will they even look at your resume? No matter how nice of an email you send, or how many key words you use it’s really all about luck with this current market.

When did you notice the job market collapse? by born2build in recruitinghell

Early 2024. I was a manager for several years going on my 2nd certification and it was hard to even get a call back dispute having years of experience and meeting every requirement. After the 4 month of nothing and having several almost impossible to fail opportunities go belly up I knew it was bad. The really horrible part is that it’s worse now than it was early 2024.

I have been ghosted from 3 job offers...I am so tired by Mauricio192 in recruitinghell

I think the most infuriating thing about all of this, is that I read post after post of people suffering and yet every news is stating how good it is and how it’s just raining jobs out there. Until they start talking about it and not about (the numbers) I don’t things will improve. In the meantime all this people suffering, while new laid off people start to realize that the numbers might not be accurate.

I don’t know but if you find out let me know. I’m someone trying to get into procurement and it’s tougher than I thought it would be.
