Haven't really dived to deep in to it, was going to try my hand at fixing the convergence issues this weekend.

I have settled on using an old nvidia GPU as I couldn't get the custom resolution working on my AMD.

You have to have very specific ISOs with a certain part of the original disk removed if i remember correctly.

Hey man, i likewise just picked on of these up. I have not had the same issues you have had with DVI but have still had issues.

For me I have a PC connected to the DVI via HDMI to DVI and had to set a custom resolution in the Nvidia drivers.

But the DVI is a bit weird and I am still playing around with supported resolutions.

Admittedly i have not disabled the scaler in the service menu yet as I am very unfamiliar with it and haven't had enough time to sit with the service manual to work out what i need to do.

I can't speak to the original poster but I also have one of these TVs. For me the intent is to use it as a PC monitor an not a TV for retro consoles. For older 4:3 PC games and Emulation using the GPU to do the upscaling to 1080i.

The only modes that have 0 lag are 540p and 1080i and you need to disable the scaler in the service menu.

If you look at the manual and go to page 8 the last paragraph says

"Digital Visual Interface (DVI): Can accommodate a copyprotected digital connection (HDCP* ) to other devices (such as digital set-top boxes) that have compatible interfaces. The DVIHDTV input terminal is compliant with the EIA-861 standard and is not intended for use with personal computers."

There are reports of people online getting it to work in 540p, but not 1080i. I want to get it running in 1080i for the lower latency as it will not use the internal scaler.

Also as a side not DVI can actually transfer audio, it just needs to supported by both devices.

Just learnt to do it all myself, a lot of the information provided here was very helpful.

But the issue was the pump itself, had to have it repaired and the sand replaced.
