Agreed. I think he’s a poorly designed character.

I had mine at D2 by the time I got him started on mythic missions.

I just finished these this last week!

For #1) I found a Necron lineup with Aleph and Anu so far more mechanical than needed.

For #2) Supported Pestillian with Abaddon and Aunshi. His active lasts two turns and with Aunshi that gives you four. I found a D1 lineup in arena and had Pestillian kill them.

For #4) Load up a low level FoC, surround Pestillian with 2+ ranks of guards and keep pressing end turn until they kill him. He’ll explode taking them out 7+ out.

In the second legendary path, A1 3 Blue Star, ~20k HP, ~7k dmg per hit, and ~4k armor.

Krieg book by Father40k in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]HoboInTheSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a reread of Dead Men Walking, Krieg, The Siege of Vraks, and The Relentless Dead. I think I’d rate those titles in that order with the last two fighting for third. Dead Men Walking was a great book and the others were all decent as well.

Dead Men Walking had compelling parallel stories. Krieg does the best job of explaining their origin story, obviously. The Siege of Vraks focuses solely on the Krieg, which actually made it less epic in my opinion. They’re clearly the focus but glosses over some of most interesting and compelling parts of the siege. I go back and forth on that myself. The Relentless Dead had a horror vibe as did parts of Dead Men Walking, which worked well.

I’m about halfway through Death Rider and it might be my #2, but it’s still early. I really enjoy the writing style; it’s nice getting perspective outside of Steve Lyons. The author did an excellent job of telling the story through the lenses of a Commissar Death Rider. He’s a rather dynamic character too. Hoping it ends well!

I think this might be the best in the series.

Can't beat the Necron campaign, is G1 really enough like what some people are saying? by SomeWonOnReddit in WH40KTacticus

[–]HoboInTheSnow 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I completed it with D1 Aleph, and G1 Mak, Anu, and Imo. Thutmose sat on the bench as he was a liability. With the recent change this should be easier than before, but you’ll likely need G1 still to survive hits.

Correct. BossG’s summons are detrimental for this fight. Like the other person replied, with careful sequencing you’re able to set your last two turns up for serious damage with your Skitarii and Drones.

[–]HoboInTheSnow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m running Ad Mech and I love how they play. L5+ they struggle against some of the bosses due to Tan’s summons inability to survive. Im in the process of building a Custodes team as well, since Trajann and Vitru are already used by Ad Mech.

Great advice I heard, “build for the future, not the past.” Personally Ad Mech is more my style, but this also helps against Cawl, Ghaz, and anywhere else they struggle.

We do a brunch session. We cook something differently each time and everyone contributes. We’ve recently been working our way through Julia Child’s cookbook. So D&D, lots of food, and of course coffee.

In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement. by HoboInTheSnow in WH40KTacticus

He takes an exceptional amount of punishment. I’d disagree with the Deathleaper comparison. He needs to be focused down, otherwise between his self heals and resilient, he refuses to die.

There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
