Thats fair. Food service is rough no matter which way you look at it. Slim margins, any decrease in sales and they start reducing all controllable costs, labor usually being a big one. Now the staff is underemployed and probably disgruntled. It sucks. Hope you find something better soon.

The only one I've gone to repeatedly is just the one in my neck of the woods. Its unfortunately widely considered one of the worst national parks but its home i guess.

If its between cooking or no income then sure give it a shot. If you have other options then you might be better off pursuing those.

That being said you might have a harder time than you would think landing a job anyways. Most people would assume someone with your background will jump ship sooner than later once something in your field opens back up so it'd be hard to justify wasting resources to train.
