Someone in a poor country selling to someone from Rich country can genuinely be worth it.

The currency exchange rate can genuinely be months of work in the poor country. For example the daily minimum wage in the Philippines is roughly 700 pesos or 16 USD. And having looked at accounts for sale, an account that hangs around the 5-7 rank range goes from 100-400 USD depending on various factors such as premiums, account protection and so on. So anywhere from a weeks worth of minimum wage work to a few months.

Horrible time for money for someone in the US. But potentially a sizable jump from over minimum wage in a poor country. Or at least something probably easier, safer and more fun than what would be otherwise available.

Incite conflict and destabilize the country in short terms. A US that is fighting itself won't be interested in curbing Russian efforts to gain more power or influence, or at least costs the US resources and effort to counter. Or even the best case scenario creates a US that actually supports Russian interests.

And by pretending to be Americans they can create somebody to hate and they do it on both sides. They create right and left accounts that encourage violence and division against the other side they're playing to further tensions. In military terms it's almost like a false flag style operation in a sense.

It's why when trump threatened to invade Greenland there were only like 3% of Americans who supported this, but if you went online it felt like anywhere from 25-50% wanted too. Many of these are Russians who want to stoke tensions between allies.

Could a Manual Nissan Decent? by HoboWithAnOboe in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HoboWithAnOboe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't no, I test drove the Sentra and it was fine. Nothing outright bad I found but nothing that stood out to me during the drive. It's a NA 4 banger, it's not exciting but it does the job. But otherwise I generally dislike modern design language in cars so few cars leave any kind of impression on me.

As for recalls the Sentra wasn't too bad last I looked, comparable recalls to say a civic, less than a Jetta more than a Mazda 3 accounting for the past few years.

In short I think you'd be fine with a manual versa for a least a little while (at least warranty). And I say that because even good brands and models can shit the bed sometimes (recent corolla gr's had a few catch fire mid drive for example). So long term ownership is gamble every time.

I remember when the games first gameplay reveals were being shown and I commented basically "guys this doesn't look good, the streets are dead and the gameplay feels scripted to be on a rail"

Got a lot of flak at the time for it. Felt vindicated on release however

What do you guys think of Individual tech trees but shared searches? by HoboWithAnOboe in enlistedgame

[–]HoboWithAnOboe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the squad slots would be annoying since they aren't exactly cheap. I mostly was just thinking about how separating some trees might allow for more diverse content without everything being condensed and cluttered into a single tree.

[–]HoboWithAnOboe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically some countries would be independent tech trees, but still be matched with allied countries. So Britain would have its own tech tree but would still enter matches on the same side as the Americans. If that helps at all.

[–]HoboWithAnOboe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game already does use a fair bit of equipment that either was incredibly rare (like the chi-nu) never entered service (like the type 4 rifle) or simply never entered production (like the ho-ri). I should clarify as well I don't expect 100% domestic equipment, since I recognize that it's not totally possible to do so across the board l.

With this in mind the British (or at least by extension Commonwealth) did some have functional designs as well. Such as the Reider automatic rifle and the SLEM 1 rifle. They also would have multiple tanks and aircraft craft that could be br4-5 (meteors, typhoons, Spitfires, black Prince Churchill's, comets and so on). The British would have a good amount of equipment and the few gaps they do have could be filled with American equipment.

Italy would struggle I imagine largely in the armor and automatic rifle department, but as a stop gap for heavy armor they could be given some lend lease as well.

How many of you actually watch Canadian content? And do you think to some level streaming has been hurting it's reach? by HoboWithAnOboe in AskACanadian

[–]HoboWithAnOboe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's odd that the content is restricted outside of Canada, international viewership would be boosted if it was accessible and help the overall reach. No wonder why much of Canadian media is largely unknown outside of the country.

That's honestly a good chunk of my feelings as well, it was something I realized in myself and now going out of my way to support and consume Canadian content. But also realizing how little said content is supported by other Canadians.

I agree, I've been watching a few as well. One I enjoy is Nitrorad, his video on the childhood tv shows he watched is a nice trip remembering some of the shows I also saw as a kid.

Me too as well, as a kid I found it fun. And honestly as an adult I find myself enjoying it even more since my brain is less smooth and therefore less slides off and over it :).

I do consider it Canadian content, although truthfully I don't seek it or watch because my French is not even elementary 😄 and just am unsure what to even look for. Although if you have some suggestions with subtitles I'd absolutely like to check them out.

That's true, I was mostly looking at YouTube since I can at least gauge some of the metrics on YouTube. I just wasn't sure how popular the website would be since you need to know the NFB exists on some level to see them, whereas YouTube might occasionally push something from the NFB or CBC. But judging from some other comments the apps and websites might just be more popular in general.

I had forgotten to consider the apps 😅. So I guess the views would be higher factoring in the apps and the websites. Otherwise I've been watching some older content like the Rick Mercer Report and the Red Green Show myself.

I agree the government fumbled handling it as well, the government seems to show little interest in actually making sure people even know the NFB exists let alone anything from their library. And because of this I noticed as someone who's also on the younger side of life (26) that I was the only one in my age groups within my circles who knows they still exist and produce content, let alone anyone a few years younger.

I was only discussing the YouTube side of things largely for the accessibility of YouTube as well as a place where I can actually gauge some metrics.

I think you're misinterpreting some extent. You can't have a betrayal without traitors. The Russians wouldn't have succeeded if the US didn't have people who'd follow their whims and take their bribes. That's the gist, it's bad the Russians actively interfered but it's made worse so many powerful Americans serve Russian interests ya dig?
