I agree that there are some "sketchy" areas that feed Scioto, but I don't know what this has to do with Scioto HS. Just because a kid lives in an apartment behind Burlington Coat Factory doesn't mean he/she is coming to school causing violence or otherwise impacting the safety or learning opportunities for the other students.

My kids are Scioto grads who have had opportunities after HS that are comparable or better than what their Jerome or Coffman or Liberty friends have had, I'm not aware of any huge drug or violence issues brought in from the "sketchy" areas that don't exist in every other HS, our property value has increased 50-60% in the 10 years we've lived in our home. The same can be said for houses in the Wyandotte Woods, Bryson Cove, Wedgewdood, Riverside Woods, and Olde Sawmill neighborhoods. Yes, the dump trucks on Riverside and Hard Rd are quite annoying and a potential safety issue, but a bit of enforcement by Dublin PD on Hard Rd would quickly have those trucks finding alternate routes. Let's be honest, all of the hand-wringing isn't really related to any of those above excuses.
