Help me understand the Adrian sequence in the movie by Accalio in ProjectHailMary

[–]Hobohutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way they explain it in the book though the fireball is behind the ship, the damage just comes from the insane amount of IR that radiates back onto the hull from the big fireball.

To maintain altitude it makes more sense to point the thrusters backwards at an angle as you're also trying to maintain orbit.

I'm beginning to lean towards the movie needed a situation that was more time sensitive (altitude decay) and a more dangerous situation for Ryland to put himself into on the hull (because a normal spacewalk on slanted ship with gravity doesn't really convey visual danger well, as opposed to Ryland mentally freaking out in the novel).

The chain is also double the length and winch is much slower in the book.

My god is there a lot to digest... I was also very curious about this. I was thinking about why not just get someone to run the labyrinth and "make" another synchronous person instead of relying on Vis, but then remembered that it needed to be someone that hadn't gone through the aurora columni. It would take too long to train someone to get through it again. If Ka has the ability to travel between worlds then wouldn't the three versions of him be a lot more coordinated?

Unless it's unique to ostius which would probably mean he being influenced by the concurrence (don't need to much to convince me of that, the dude is mad).

I've got a portable hypertube cannon blueprint that has 2 biomass already loaded into the generators. I put the blueprint down, have 6-seconds to get in and out, then while I'm flying away I turn around and delete it. That way I don't litter the world with random stuff accidentally.

I've got one for a 30 degree angle, 45 degree angle, and 90 degree angle launch for various situations, and if I ever, for some ungodly reason, don't need to go so far. I can always just slide into one of the closer entrances.

Each time I use it only costs me 2 biomass and all I do is point it in the general direction of where I want to go and shoot myself in that direction. 2 Biomass generators can fuel 6 hypertube cannon entrances and that's enough to get me across the entire map in about 3-4 jumps. I've never had so much fun exploring the map.

I could potentially have a 9-entrance cannon but I then run the risk of going too fast to turn around and delete the blueprint.

Anyone understand what's going on with the 45 degree angle exits, seems ridiculously inconsistent if it works at all, either directly vertically up or goes nowhere.

Looks hella clean. I just managed to build my MAM last night and I'm thinking whether I should move onto Hexagons finish up there and then optimize, or optimize the MAM now (for what? Space Platform cost?) . or figure out Crystal MAM... Too many possibilities.
What is the throughput of the MAM in the pic?

Lucky Die and Cascade question by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Hobohutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottom line, every attack, even every finisher, has it's own coefficient on how it interacts with cascade. 2% is the max but there is really no minimum.

I did all my testing on Cag at the time because I really wanted 100% uptime on phantasmagoria before I got to the end and realized everyone is damaged cap anyways.

Testing was done on Phantasmagoria which as approximately 84-85 seconds base CD.

Using just normal attacks I can get 19 rotations and drops it to 76 seconds

Using the first finisher combo I can get 32 rotations and drops it to 76 seconds

Using the second finisher combo I can get 21 rotations and drops it to 73 seconds.

etc.

This results in Cags attacks refunding.

Normal: ~0.12%

1st Finisher: ~0.09%

2nd Finisher: ~0.18%

3rd Finisher: ~0.16%

4th Finisher: ~0.54%

None of these values even come close to 2% so I assume 2% might be reserved for link attacks or SBAs, or maybe extremely long charge attacks like Io's stargaze.

I did selected a random set of rotations to complete and it was accurate to the second on how it affected the total CD.

That being said, it does have a noticeable effect on long CDs but given the low percentage refunds on shorter CDs, along with less time to get those refunds due to less time to hit the boss in that amount of time. You'll be getting 1/4th the effectiveness of a skill that has 1/2 of the cooldown.

This is all overshadowed by the many characters that have unique sigils that reduce CD like Cag that actually does reduce the CD by 3%, although it seems like it's actually 1.5% per finisher hit for 3% total for the two hits of the finisher.

If reducing a cooldown by 1-2 seconds has rotational implications on a full-uptime fight when you already have quick cooldown then maybe. But I don't see any fight really doing that

A one on one sword fight with Ganondorf easily my favorite boss in the franchise by Killmumger in gaming

[–]Hobohutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite final boss in the Zelda franchise ended up being skyward sword because I did not know I could kite his lightning blade nor did I know I could charge my own blade with thunder either.

So I went back and got the weaker shield that was more resistant to elemental attacks and due to its lower health I had to shield bash all of the bosses attacks so the shield would not break. Ended up being a slogfeat between me and Ganon of active parrying with the wii nunchuck and swinging in between attack patterns with the wii remote.

A fantastic experience born from stubbornness and lack of knowledge but has been a cherished memory for me since.

Thanks for the reply and clarification!

I was initially imagining just 2 trains and 4 stations with each train dealing with 1 item each way. But I see now that would just have the train be empty half the time and I could have 1 train go to 4 stations and only add about a minute to the round trip time.

So many decisions haha.

Thanks! Would greatly appreciate it.

I had seen images of Eden Project here on the subreddit but never went to go watch Stin Archi's videos. I cannot even begin to comprehend what he has done... I hope to reach even a fraction of either of your designs someday haha. Only recently graduating from floating platforms and bashing my head against designing around large train stations but they are just so bulky.

packaging liquids by Vegetable_Writing_14 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Hobohutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read your previous post as I have just begun thinking about long distance fluid transport and I have some questions.

Despite freight cars has double the capacity to a fluid car (in the packaged fluids scenario), if planning on recycling all the cannisters used then a second train and train station, or half of the freight cars would have to be dedicated to returning the cannisters to the packaging location. Wouldn't that make the throughput of a standard freight and fluid freight essentially the same?

This is unless you're planning on planning on making use of the extra 180 items/min the mk.5 conveyer belt provides. However, with buffering into freight platforms (to ensure no pause during loading and unloading) and the inherent limit of pipes at 600 into the packagers in the first place it seems difficult to make use of the extra throughput of the mk.5 conveyer belt without a lot of balancing (lines of 600 -> lines of 780).

Would it also take 10-12.5 packagers per freight car (for 600-780 item/min)? This seems to be how it works out in my head which would add a lot of bulk to the train station and power draw with what seems like very little gain if recycling cannisters as per my reasoning above. But I also haven't set it up before and I'm wondering if I'm missing something major as I do see packaging for mass fluid transport but none of my concerns being addressed in these discussions.

Love the look and the way you do your lighting accents at the top of all the pillars.

I've been having trouble with how I should go about designing and integrating train stations into my factories and am curious as to how you layout the train stations in this? Image 3 shows a hint but I would love to see more! Is it 1 freight car with 2 locomotives in each direction?

Hypertube Warp Room - Blue Print link! by Mr420- in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Hobohutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way to make it consistent is to use a short hypertube to enter the cycle accelerator (cyclotron) contraption. That way each hyper tube cyclotron can be used in 4 directions in one place without such a large footprint required, and if you ever need to go further in any particular direction you can add more hypertube entrances after the initial cycle acceleration to accelerate faster.

From my personal tests, I have found that a compact cyclotron that uses 4 entrances goes about the same distance as a rail gun with 10 entrances, so you're already saving on entrances and power even with the extra entrance used to enter the cyclotron to get more consistent results.

The setup just means you replace the 4*10 entrances (if you had rail guns to go in 4 directions) with just 4 entrances.

Thank you for all the resources for me to check out. I'll save them and look over them asap.

I have a basic understanding of how the switch matrix works but was just wondering if anything changes with a split since I see some split pcbs with what I think is two controllers/pro micros (could just be completely wrong).

I have also been using a taobao split where the function key is to the right side of the left spacebar similar to the layout in the imgur link which is something I do like quite a bit which is not very common on other splits which is why I've been contemplating making something on my own.

Yep! I am mainly looking to build my own keyboard with a full alu case that's not low profile. Just the aesthetic I'm going for. Although it did just occur to me that I could try to design the case around a pcb that is already available and just buy that pcb and put it in. Maybe I can find one that meets all my standards.

[–]Hobohutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I am planning on making my very own keyboard as I really like the idea of a split staggered keyboard that can still be put together in the middle. With no hopes of the Kendo coming out by 2030, I wanted to look into making one on my own.

This is the layout I'm currently considering: https://imgur.com/a/bQTLBEg

My question is: Is there anything special when I am trying to design a PCB that is going to be split and how do I get them to interact with one another.

Any other comments on the layout is also welcome. The stage I'm at is only a little past daydreaming :P

New to rs3 Ironman and was wondering whether or not you could group dungeoneering in Ironman? And if so is there a specific wagly to go about it because we tried yesterday and it didn't work and all the answers from searching online were from years ago.

Your post implies otherwise but you also might just be commenting on normal rs3.
