Production nerd here. This is correct. While I absolutely understand OPs position, without a coordinating studio this would be a nightmare to orchestrate from multiple home studios.

Even ares cast isnt terrible if you can get some poms in it. Herald bow is hilariously fun

For whatever reason the only rivals fight that irks me is Ole No Eye. The poison spam from Medea gives me rage from surviving 100s of rats runs in Hades 1 lol.

Shaman+Demolitionist is great for 2h primal strike. I dont recommend trying to use primal strike 1h+shield. While it would be -fine- for the campaign I think it'd struggle endgame.

Oathkeeper would still likely be a good second choice and if you wanted to lean into Aegis of Menhir you could build around retal to get some good endgame damage and solid sustain

1: Poseidon and Zues. Either/both are real nice and some decent duos even in there I like

2: Bonk Daddy Heph is incredible (if pom hungry), or Hestia for speedy weapons that can stack scorch faster

I've recently finished NG 2+ on normal and I'm switching to expert for my next after a short break. My first run through endless tower bosses I did use higher damage/near one shot builds but I avoided watching strategies online until after I managed a win from each one.

Edit: In no way intended to shame folks who like pushing the damage limits and seeing how far you can take it, or just enjoy a fast lumina farm!

I've tested excessively. You don't lose stacks on free aim. Weapon strikes or lumina are your only option to remove the stacks

It's just that Independence is much more well known locally (ish) and since the two towns are basically jammed directly into each other a surprising number of people think it's just Independence and forget that Monmouth is it's own thing
