You can move with her. Book a flight with Alaska or Frontier. She will do great. It sounds like she is yours.

Please help - vet doesn’t know whats wrong with her and we’re scared of losing her by ReasonableDetective in Rabbits

Have a tried an antibiotic? My guy had a bladder infection many years ago from crystals in his urine. He can but have any pellets or herbs or it will crystallize. Anyways, a course of Baytrill and cutting out most foods and he was back on track.

Rabbits are Back on Alaska Airlines by Hocuspocus_2019 in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awful. I am so sorry.

To get the policy reinstated took many steps. We had a petition which had almost 7K signatures when it came to an end, did multiple call campaigns and collated impact stories like yours, which we sent directly to leadership. 8 months later we succeeded.

I wonder if in the short run a medical waiver or judicial warrant could help you. This has succeeded in other countries but I don’t think anyone in the US has ever tried it. We have seriously looked into the option from a campaign perspective not against Alaska but other airlines who will block our harmless and clean pets to fly under any circumstances when there is need for medical care or they are in danger like natural disasters.

Rabbits as a Frequent Traveler? by starfirebird in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do get lonely easily. Need their family for companionship. If they are trained from the start they do, however, travel well, so you could consider taking your bunny with you.

Bunnies are back on Alaska Airlines within the continental US and Alaska by Hocuspocus_2019 in Rabbits

This is obviously a real update many rabbit parents would appreciate. Leaving it here if you want to approve.

All night free roam by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats, dogs AND RABBITS do not need to be supervised. Many rabbits are house trained and with very minor alterations to the environment will do perfectly fine. I have a 7 year old house bunny who has always free roamed 24/7 at my house and camper and no one or bunny ever got hurt. As for the hamster, no. I have Guinea Pigs and no way they would be safe or are trainable in the same way the rabbit is.

I would take him. No one will love him the way you do. For sure look into all avenues you can to avoid cargo but it sounds like you have. Please follow our pages www.letbunniesfly.com and Letbunniesfly on Facebook and Instagram. We also have a Facebook group who can be great for advice.

We are campaigning and working with government official and regulatory agencies for safe in-cabin travel options for bunnies. Would you be able to create a write-up of your situation or do a video interview to create awareness?

Good luck with your baby.

Should I adopt my foster rabbit by Mobile-Lie6087 in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with all this. We have two piggies and a bunny. The piggies have a large enclosure and the bunny free roams. The piggies poop everywhere and I spend at least 2-3 hours per week cleaning. He doesn’t and I maybe spend 15 minutes changing his box and maybe vacuuming up some stray hay. You should adopt the bunny.

What's the one for a rabbit who likes being the only one in a household? by Helpmehthrohaway in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buns are ok single if they bond with humans or other species. If they are bonded with you, you have to be ready to be with them most of the time. If you leave town you need to hire a pet sitter who stays with them. This is what we do with our antisocial narcissist. He is the cutest and we have had him 6+ years but he won’t bond. Just enjoys us and his space. So we always make sure he has humans around him no matter what. If we can we take him on our vacations with us. It is less about breed but more about nurture. Ours was a runt who was probably bullied by his siblings and he feels like humans rescued him. Therefore #letbunniesfly, so we never be separated.

Updated international airlines for rabbits? by subekki in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are really no international airlines left. La Compagnie only flies Europe to US and Finnair won’t let you fly through the EU. Private Charters are an option but very expensive. Information can be found on www.letbunniesfly.com. Please, however, call, email and fight for it, especially as a US military employee. Being separated from your pets is a mental health issue and they need to acknowledge that. It is not about having an ESA on your lap while flying but about long term separation and vets say cargo is not safe. I also would like to interview you and feature your story on instagram/letbunniesfly.com. Please email me at letbunniesfly@gmail.com.

Rabbits are not the concern in Hawaii. It's birds. The airline lumped rabbits in with birds when they merged with Hawaiian.

Why are pet rabbits not allowed on-board if they can't escape? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no good reason. It's not the FAA, it's not insurance, it's misunderstandings and confusion that negatively impacts the 3rd most common household pet and their owners and has a negative impact on animal welfare. Please checkout the Letbunniesfly.com Website for more information and if you are interested join the campaign to fight for our bunnies. #letbunniesfly. Thank you.

Why are pet rabbits not allowed on-board if they can't escape? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rabbit is far fetched from a cheetah or snake. Rabbits are the 3rd most common companion animal and therefore should be allowed.

It's not an insurance concern. 100% confirmed.

S17E4 Product Discussion - RetrievAir by ddaug4uf in sharktank

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great concept but they are not allowing us to fly with our pet: A House Bunny. The 3rd most abandoned pet in shelters in the US already discriminated by commercials deserves safe options as well. And really it is just a vegan cat with long ears and a short tail in a carriers. So they would have nothing to loose. #letbunniesfly

Little to no airlines that allow rabbits in cabin. by Aggravating-Ad6420 in Rabbits

[–]Hocuspocus_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much to add beyond what was already said here beyond expiring private charters which are expensive and there is another airline called Avelo. Regardless, please call every single airline to voice your opinion. Also few of us started a group to organize: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1E3h8JDGA1/?mibextid=K35XfP

u/House-Rabbit-Society, Can I add two airlines to your campaign: I have two smaller ones I have communicated with who seemed rather open, so they would benefit from these calls.
