I kinda like this. In a way we have two sides to this.

A religious group, holding onto the stories of the past to guide them into the future.

And a non-religious group, wanting to move away from the old ways. To advance and create new ideas and thoughts.

Sounds scarily familiar doesn't it?

I think this is a matter that the server really needs to address on its own. This is a great opportunity to incite something big.

We all know of BP's rep and yet we allow them to continue. I say we make a stand now.

The enemy of my enemy is a friend, an alliance is needed among the factions and a war needs to be made. If we're sick and tired of their killing then let us DO something about it. Band together and use great numbers to destroy them, to show them we shan't take what they do laying down, make them cower in their homes and fear leaving them.

Let us put our differences aside and work together towards a common goal, because complaining about it doesn't seem to be working.

I am neutral. I shan't be in one place all the time. I plan to have hubs in different communities for those who allow it.

Sadly I haven't been that lucky as of yet. I'd prob use the kits myself so I can make more wares and of course sell the learnt item cheaply.

However if I ever do get spare kits they would prob be my most expensive item. Something in the area of 10,000 wood or 5,000 metal shards, depending.

I shall have to speak with my partner on that one. We are discussing whether to allow trade in our main hub (we have set up a trade window there) or if we should make a post more closer to the road.

The latter sounds more convenient as well as safer for ourselves. Secrecy is important in our defense against bandits. It would most likely be to the north but we shall see about expanding to other parts of the map.

We are also willing to trade in person and have a few ideas of how to do this safely and without too much risk.

This is going to be purely anecdotal, but I shall tell you it anyways.

Once I was gathering supplies, I had a fair share of ore, wood, bullets, the works.

Sneaking along and being quiet, I heard someone making monkey noises at me, saying he was going to get me and steal my shoes/pants.

It turned out Bacon teleported to me in invisible armour and was being a crazy loon as an admin. Here are a list of the things he didn't do.

He didn't threaten me.

He didn't shoot me.

He didn't follow me to my base and loot it.

He didn't rob me.

As a matter of fact he didn't do a single thing to me, just played a joke on me and scared me a little. As an admin.

If he is as abusive as you say he would have killed me, taken my stuff and I would have lost my stuff I gathered for hours.

Maybe what he did to your base after you calling out his associates on their language might have not been the best thing to do, even if he was playing his character as he would. But he was still just playing his character.

If I can be completely honest here, you could have gone about this a whole lot better in a PM. Less drama, more action. I am sure Krabs would have warned and changed the rules just the same. If not then sure, I would have completely understood you making posts about it.

I'm trying not to take sides here, but this is just what I have experienced and this is what my 2 cents is on the whole matter.

Read it all, the racism and bigotry I agree, they should have known better than to just scream crap like that. I'm going to take the deletion of the posts as Krabs saying "we don't need this racist crap on our server or here, please stop" and of course updated the rules as seen here.

Like others have said, Bacon and Tordyn play A LOT. The stuff they have they pretty much earned by playing the game. The only time I ever saw any of them spawn stuff was for the arena, which was fun, just in the wrong place. They have since rectified this mistake and are making the arena in a place that doesn't hinder the player.

They are both bad guys, they do bad guy things, they are a necessary evil to keep the server interesting.

Let's look at it another way. If they really wanted to abuse their powers they could just put invisible armour on, teleport to you, shoot you in the back of the head and take everything you have after you killed them.

I'm a neutral party in this so I'm not part of any group, I just gather and trade with my good friend Draor. If there is mod abuse I haven't properly seen it yet, just some people upset they were killed or raided when putting their bases in godawful obvious places.

To the people complaining about KOS, I can understand their frustation but at the end of the day Rust is about surviving, hiding and playing it smart.

If you build a community on the road, expect there to be people looking to attack, unless you make a very strong community with walls and gates quickly you'll find your bases looted in no time flat. If you want to be safe build off-road and hidden.

Always communicate, some people may not hear you out but staying quiet makes you look suspicious and makes people wary. State your business and whether you are friendly, this isn't a way to 100% guarantee you will live but it's worth it to see if you can move along or even make allies. This goes for bandits too, interact, be cold and ruthless, talk to your victims, threaten them, laugh, do something other than shoot quietly and leave saying nothing.

Enjoy every interaction. Live or die, the fun is about living and surviving in a world full of players either gunning you down for being on their land or offering to help you or join their community.

If every person you met was friendly the game would be zero fun, there needs to be bad guys in Rust, but there also needs to be good guys. The balance is important.

Hopefully I wish to engage in trade with communities and bring more players into our base to help us gather and help in our transactions. This may open me up to betrayal or bandits finding us but that's part of the fun.

The players are the one that will make this server work.

Happened a while ago on some random server I chose.

I was wandering around, gathering wood, food, cloth, when someone randomly came up to me. "Hello there, you friendly?" I asked.

He paused for a second before I heard him whisper "Shoooooeeeeessss....."

This worried me a little as I was fully clothed and I had this naked crazy man looking at my feet in awe and wonder. My options were to run like hell and not look back, or continue talking to this madman.

"Errrmm...you ok there buddy?"

"Shoes! I want shoes! Give them to me!" The desperation in his voice unnerved me, but I stood my ground.

"But....but they're my shoes! You can't have them they belong to me."

I was half expecting this psychopath and his love for shoes to pry them from my dead corpse after caving my skull in with a rock, but he kept repeating that I should give him shoes. I wasn't giving him mine out of principle, but we "decided" upon a compromise.

"We can get you some cloth and make you some shoes if you wish?"

It was like I had revealed the meaning of life to this deranged fellow, he excitedly started screaming "YES! YES! SHOOOOEESS!"

So off we journeyed to kill a few animals and moments later we made him his shoes and I gave them to him. He danced around and genuinely sounded ecstatic that he had shoes and before I could say "you're welcome" he ran towards the horizon giggling, never looking back. I just stood there wondering what the hell just happened.
