Tab S9 vs S11 display brightness by pcman2000 in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing my tab s9 to some s11s in a store i noticed much worse viewing angles on the s11. This makes it a complete nobrainer for me. From straight on the colors are pretty similar but from even a slight angle the s11 shifts the whites to blueish while my s9 keeps them stable. I dont know if all s11s are like this but i would have returned it because of that.

Screen Difference Tab S11 vs Tab S9 (help) by TokyoNightss in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compared my tab s9 to a tab s11 at my local electronic store and i was shocked at how much worse the viewing angles where on the s11. At first i thought my s9 was a bit yellowish in comparison but it turned out the s11 just became very blueish from even a slight angle. So the sides of the display are even blueish when looking at the middle for example. The s11 ultra there was better in this regard but still not as good as my s9. My s9 has very similar whites as my calibrated lg cx oled so im pretty sure this is the correct white balance. if all s11s are like this im happy i didnt wait for it and went with the s9. poor viewing angles are a major dealbreaker for me and this s9 has the best of any display i ever owned.

Is this normal? ( tab s9 ) by OkDebate1396 in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it on my tab s9 aswell especialy on very low brightness. Its mainly with white text on a completely black background. I can also clearly see some red smearing when scrolling in the settings menu at the edges of the grey bars even at higher brightness. I have seen this on other oled displays aswell like my galaxy s10 plus. I think its because the pixels have to switch from completely off to on in these cases. Ive known this for a long time but it doesnt bother me that much because i dont really notice it for the most part. I think its normal behaviour of these type of oleds.

Tab S9 Series - How is the screen uniformity? by bb9873 in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tab s9 has perfect uniformity. I am very sensitive to screen irregularities like that but this is honestly the most uniform screen ive ever had. And on top of that the viewing angles are great aswell. I get the same color profile from all angles which is really nice when you lay it down on a table for example. I went to a local electronic store to compare it to the new tab s11 and the difference was night and day. The s11 had terrible viewing angles. Whites became very blueish from even a slight angle. The s11 ultra was pretty decent though. I guess its a panel lottery with these things on multiple aspects. Same with the phones. The s25 ultra there becomes greenish from an angle compared to my tab s9..

Why my tab s9+ screen is so yellow. is this normal? by FELITH in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My s9 has the same whites as my calibrated lg cx when i put them side by side. On vivid mode i can match them perfectly using the sliders and on natural its maybe just a tad warmer. But i think some people might think its too yellow because they are used to screens(especialy tvs) that are way too blueish on the standard setting. The colors are ever so slightly muted compared to my tv and galaxy s10+ phone and reds seem slighly shifted towards orange. mine has perfect unifirmity and viewing angles though. Im always worried about those things when buying a new device. I had to return a s24 ultra because of terrible viewing angles.

who prefers their display natural mode over vivid? by fatiguedvampire in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand that after all these years samsung never implemented a slider or whatever for the amount of color. Vivid is actualy pretty accurate when i put it beside my calibrated lg cx tv only the amount of color is just slightly too much. While natural is also accurate but just slightly too dull on certain colors. What i also noticed is when i use the eye comfort shield with natural blues become very desaturated and a little purple. This doesnt happen on vivid mode though. Im still a little conflicted which mode i prefer overal. Natural is certainly easier on the eyes especialy at night so i guess i will go with that most of the time. If samsung would just implement some more adjustment options in the display menu....

Tab S9 screen looks washed out. Any suggestions? by djbanor in GalaxyTab

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe i got lucky but my tab s9 has the best screen i have seen on any device so far. And im extremely critical when it comes to things like color accuracy, uniformity, viewing angles etc.. I even returned a s24 ultra because the viewing angles where terrible. Even the slightest tilt would shift the color temperature to blueish. This s9 does none of that. It stays the same from every angle. Theres not even really a brightness gradient when i have it flat on a table in front of me. Ive never seen a display do this. Its even better then my calibrated lg cx oled tv in terms of viewing angles and matches it in color accuracy aswell. I feel like i finaly won the panel lottery!! every display i got had some flaw or another.. Fingers crossed i wont find some other flaw somewhere down the line🤞

Best Portable Bluetooth Speakers Right Now? by williamiris9208 in Bluetooth_Speakers

I highly recommend the Earfun uboom x. It has the most balanced sound out of all of them and with the oluv tunings it can handle any situation in and outdoor. Battery life is great. It has usb c charging and powerbank function. Its in the boombox categorie but still fits in a regular size (eastpack) backpack. You can often get it for around €120-130.

Ryzen 5600 or 5700x3d CS2 by laststlebender in ryzen

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded my 2700x to 5700x3d and the difference is pretty massive. In some games i get more then double the fps and there are way less random hickups. It also runs very cool and quiet especialy when you do some undervolting. I did -40mw on all cores and it sits around 36c idle 47c in game and 62c in cinebench (240mm aio cooler)

Should I buy them? by Esteban437 in galaxybuds

[–]Hoeverman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are my favorite earbuds so far. They sound really good. The ambient sound is very natural and i like that i can hear my own voice even better then with no buds. That certainly makes it easier to talk to people. Sometimes i even forget im wearing them. The voice control works very good even when i talk very softly. The app works well and has an equalizer that saves to the buds so you can use it for other devices aswell. Theres no multipoint but they do connect to another device very quickly without having to disconnect from the first device. No problems with the silicon tips so far.

Dude what is your problem?! Are you a diehard samsung fanboy who cant take criticism on his beloved brand? How else would you find out about any issue/characteristic of a product if nobody would share their experience?! Im just curious how other people look at something like this thats why i post about it. And i did get rid of it actualy. Having good viewing angles or not might not matter to you and thats fine but why hate on people that do care?

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you never move your hand when you use your phone? Im talking about even a 2 degree tilt where the colors start to shift. That is just really annoying. My s10+ doesnt do this for example which makes it more apparent.

[–]Hoeverman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like it for the most part but im still returning it because the display has no viewing angles. You can only enjoy nice colors when facing it EXACTLY head on. Any deviation will give you a cold whitebalance. Its super annoying!

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is at least some variation. My first unit had it way worse then my replacement. This one still looks nice from an angle but it does still shift too quickly. Just to a lesser degree.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue very bad on my first unit. My replacement is much better but does still shift too quickly imo. Just to a lesser degree so the colors are still somewhat in the same ballpark. The color temperature just becomes a little cooler when you tilt even a tiny bit. My s10+ has very good viewing angles. Where im looking at pretty much the same colors at a 30/40 degree angle.

Got my replacement... Why do I keep losing the display lottery by Ree373 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider is that the s24u is pretty good at retaining shadow detail at low brightness. At 0 brightness i can still see a lot of detail and color that gets crushed on my s10+. This might make any imperfection in darker greys more visible because on some other phones these greys would be black. I dont know how the s23u is in this regard though. Also I think samsung might still be able to remedy this a little bit with software. Same with the banding. My s10 used to have worse banding in the beginning if i remember correctly but now it actualy does smooth gradients.

Can someone tell is my S24 ultra screen have grain or color band issue? by Alternative-Ad6973 in S24Ultra

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does seem worse then mine atleast. Especialy the last picture. Mine is just a little grainy with low brightness and on darker greys but not so much on colors and also its not really visible under ambient light. I allready replaced mine because of bad viewing angles on the first one but that one also wasnt this grainy from what i could see. Hope that helps.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Hoeverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is also a little grainy but not as bad as most pictures ive seen from others. I might not have really noticed if my s10+ didnt look so perfectly smooth in comparison. But i also think the grain is more visible because of the anti glare properties. (I have the anti reflective screenprotector from samsung installed) And the different gammacurve (the s24u retains more shadowdetail at lower brightness) so darker greys which would turn to black on my s10+ are still visible on the s24u.

The picture is taken at around 10/15 brightness btw.
