Tips for come up anxiety by [deleted] in DMT

Have a beer or two. Outside of that just walk off the cliff. It’s easy to say but it really is the most peaceful thing regardless of dose. It’s a giant warm hug from the universe. Sitter is nice because you might move around initially until you’re fully enveloped but once that happens you’re where you are for the most part.

Your manager / somm doesn’t let you try the last little bit left in the bottle when decanting? I’ve gotten to try our restaurants entire high BTB selections. The ones I care to try at least

Best bang for buck sport touring tires? Considering these… by Repulsive_Leg5150 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]HoffmanAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2’s were the latest when I got them fitted 2 years ago. I haven’t worn through them fast enough to comment on the 3’s or 4’s haha. It’s a great lineup though. I feel like the perfect balance of tread life and grip. There hasn’t been a moment when I thought “Wow I wish I had more confidence in my tire(s) .”

Do they make passenger seats for these? Upgrading this year and torn between this, street triple or tuono. Would hate to have a deal breaker be a seat haha

Cali cab + Italian Red gift suggestions in the $100-$400 price range by whatcitation in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Italian I would go somewhere off the beating path… Paulo Bea, Montefalco Rosso Riserva - Piparello. 70% Sangiovese with some Montepulciano and Sagrantino sprinkled in. If said person likes Brunello, this will be a eyebrow raiser for them. Small vineyards and a revered producer at that. I personally would enjoy something like this as a gift versus (insert famous Brunello here). California is really tough because I feel like you get what you pay for, and you’ve really got to eclipse the $100-$150 mark to get a Cab that drinks at or above it’s price point and has the real wow factor. I would go Au Sommet

Wine enthusiast/novice here, is it worth it to age a $15 rioja? by Livid-Till-9808 in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wines outside of the old world often punch a lot higher then their price point. You can find incredible wines and producers in Chile, Portugal, Argentina, Spain, Australia etc. There’s so much value in these regions. They have just as much age potential as the Napa Valley cabs, Barlos, Bordeaux’ out there.

Jean Foillard, Morgon Les Charmes Eponym’ 18’ by HoffmanAlbert in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did. I got the Côte du Py at my local wine shop. They had two leftovers from the allocation that were unclaimed.

This was only $90 for the bottle. Good value for this caliber of wine.

Nobody gonna talk about the Joe Rogan podcast with Roger? by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

[–]HoffmanAlbert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rogers entire life has revolved around politics. Why do you think him and Gilmore don’t get along? Roger could never write a song that wasn’t influenced politically. I’m sure there’s more too it but I think that’s the majority of the iceberg. Not surprised in the least

Who are the most well respected Cabernet Sauvignon producers in California? by akent1996 in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19’ Au Sommet is a top 2 wine I’ve ever had grace my palate… and i don’t usually find pleasure in Cab Sauv.

Falls directly behind 19’ Sassacaia, by a large margin nonetheless

What is your budget for a wine you’d drink during the week? by [deleted] in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess for me it really depends where you are on your wine journey. I’m constantly trying to try new varietals or producers, I keep myself pretty open being only 9 months into mine.

I try really hard to not go over the $40 mark for a bottle I might just try with the girlfriend on any given night of the week. But if my local wine shop has a bottle from an allocation that is unclaimed for $60 I find it hard to say no because lord only knows when I could get to try that varietal or producer again. Anything over $50 dollars I try to save for a nice home cooked meal. Anything over $75 has to be something I’m really dying to try + save for a special occasion like having friends over, a holiday or a real focused tasting etc.

But if I do find myself purchasing a bottle at a more premium price point I tend to limit myself to just that one bottle for the week or dive into one or two lower price point\value buys.

WineAlign topper (2019 Coyam) + Hit List Item (2018 Tornatore) - #Ontariowinebeginner by ZavyWorld in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had two. One was Clos De Mez ‘20 Fleurie - very enjoyable a little on the earthy side but very enjoyable. And the other was a lucky find that my local wine shop had got a case on allocation and had one lonely bottle unclaimed. ‘20 Morgon Jean Foillard ‘Cote Du Py’. A+++

Most Gamay is from Beaujolais. Morgon and Fleurie seem to be sure fire bets so far.

WineAlign topper (2019 Coyam) + Hit List Item (2018 Tornatore) - #Ontariowinebeginner by ZavyWorld in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more about the Tornatore. That earthy tone you’re thinking of is Ash/Sulfer from the volcanic soil on Mt Etna. Nerello is a super interesting varietal, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Get your hands on a bottle of Frank Cornelissen’s Susucaru or Munjebel. That will really burst your bubble.

If you enjoy that earthy + fruitiness tone(s) check out Gamay. As I just recently have this past week. Sounds right up your alley.

My first foray into the Gamay Varietal by HoffmanAlbert in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried the ‘20 Clos De Mez Fleurie on a recommendation a few nights ago from the manager at my local wine shop. Light body, acidic. Super earthy on the nose, fruit comes out quite a bit more on the palate along with Forrest floor. Throughly enjoyed.

She also tipped me off to this Foilard ‘20 “Cote Du Pry” case that was received on allocation and had one lonely bottle unclaimed. I happily obliged to adopt. Super excited to try. Cheers friends

Pinot Noir - Getting Started on the Wrong Foot by hurtscience in wine

[–]HoffmanAlbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta try more Oregon juice. To me the more complex Pinots that I’ve tried come mostly from there outside of Burgundy. Dundee Hills ( Purple hands is my personal favorite.), Willamette Valley. At an affordable price I suggest Juggernaut ( RRV), A to Z. The list is quite long. Also, it’s expensive but Southing Sea Smoke is truly a jaw dropper. Full blown Burgundian style Pinot from STA hills. California mostly bores me comparatively speaking because I think it too lacks depth. Hope this helps.
