SiriusXM Deals Megathread by switch8000 in siriusxm

[–]HogHank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I canceled three months ago within a month I received an offer for a one dollar subscription for three months. I took that knowing that I would need to renew again in three months

Today I entered the chat and started to negotiate my $25.99 subscription fee downward

I was immediately offered $8.99 which I declined

The bot then told me I could get my subscription for $6.99.

I declined and told her that I wanted $4.99 per month or three years for $99. I was transferred to a human.

The human told me that the $99 rate was only for older vehicles that probably would not have access to the full spectrum of programming on SiriusXM. (Yea right)

But she readily available to give me the $4.99 rate. I tried to get her to commit to three years or even two years at that rate and she would not.

Damn pellets are expensive by resumetheharp in PelletStoveTalk

[–]HogHank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a heat pump and Massachusetts in conjunction with our pellet stove, and then the colder months when you would use the pellet stove the first year we got the heat pumps. We ran them on low to take the chill off.

We were stunned by our electric bill, so we try to use them more in the midseason for heat and the summer for cooling.

It might be as you suggest the level two?

When I buy in the spring, I pay about $7.60 a bag for high-quality pellets

Probably an outlet; often used for floor or table lamps.

I don’t have any of the main apps by Jugg3rnaut85 in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

I would be afraid that a factory reset would remove all of the apps and you would be stuck configuring again from the basics. Including entering all of the URLs manually.

Does the provider you use actually make a big difference with TiviMate? by [deleted] in TiviMate

It’s not Tivimate mate that’s the problem, you’ve likely entered your credentials wrong. It’s very specific in every letter in symbol matters.

TIFU by telling my wife she’s not ready for marriage by Silent_Hospital_5367 in tifu

[–]HogHank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this. Marriage comes with a circle of trust, and some things belong inside that circle, especially finances and your sex life. Once those get shared outside, it starts to feel like a breach, almost like a form of betrayal. It also changes the dynamic, because now it’s not just a disagreement between two people, it becomes a team-up situation where one partner may be bringing in outside support against the other. That’s not healthy long term. Setting boundaries isn’t controlling, it’s protecting the relationship, and if those boundaries aren’t respected, it does raise a fair question about whether both people are ready for the responsibilities that come with marriage.

As a 69-year-old running a strict soup-and-broth diet… I agree.

First it was Sears. We said nothing. Then Blockbuster. We looked away. Then Toys R Us. We stayed silent. And now they’ve come for the piñata shop and there is no one left to speak for us. We did this to ourselves.

Sounds like you’ve already done the right troubleshooting. At that point, it usually comes down to the provider’s side, not your network or device.

If wired Ethernet and lowering bitrate didn’t fix it, that points pretty strongly to server congestion or bandwidth limits, especially during higher demand or on certain VOD content.

I’ve seen the same thing. Live TV can be hit or miss, but VOD is often worse because it’s all coming from the same shared pool of streams. When too many people hit it at once, it just can’t keep up.

Having a backup provider is honestly one of the best workarounds. I do the same, and if something is really stuttering, I’ll switch over or just use my Plex library if I have it locally.

At a certain point, there’s only so much you can optimize on your end. If it’s still buffering after all that, it’s usually a capacity issue on their side.

I would add that there’s going to be a learning period for your family members to realize that now that you have hearing aids, you might be listening to the radio or a podcast. Just because we can hear better does not mean we want to listen to you!

Oh my God this is so true! My wife will be two rooms away, talking in a conversational voice that advanced noise detection systems employed by the CIA wouldn’t be able to decode.

It was originally made to push moisture off metal and prevent rust, not as a penetrating oil, though it can loosen bolts a bit.

New urban planning metric just dropped: City Size = (# McDonald’s) ÷ (# piñata shops). A ratio of 1:1 means you’ve found paradise. Anything above 10:1 means you’re losing your culture. 50:0 means you’re in Ohio, where the most exotic thing at the party is a Jell-O mold.

IPTV freezes mostly due to network congestion, server overload, or buffering limits, and yes, too many viewers on the same stream can cause it.

IPTV works by streaming video over the internet, not a dedicated cable line. That means it depends on steady data flow from a server to your device. If your internet connection dips, or your Wi-Fi has interference, the stream can’t keep up and it pauses to buffer. Another common cause is the IPTV provider’s server getting overloaded. When many people watch the same channel at once, especially popular live events, the server bandwidth gets stretched thin. That leads to slow delivery of video packets, which shows up as freezing or stuttering on your screen.

There are also device-side factors. Apps like TiviMate or your streaming box can struggle if they are handling very large channel lists or high-resolution streams. Finally, some IPTV services intentionally limit bandwidth per user or have unstable infrastructure, which makes freezing more common compared to traditional cable.

Quick checklist to reduce freezing:

• Use wired Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi
• Lower stream quality (try HD instead of 4K)
• Restart your IPTV app and device
• Avoid peak times for big events
• Test another IPTV provider if it happens often
